Does anyone know the family of James David and Mattie Herod? Buried just behind the church. That gravestone has fallen off it's base and is face down on the ground, and we need to contact the family about it.

We now have a post office box for donations to be sent to. It is:
Parker Cemetery
P. O. Box 73
Grapeland, Texas 75844.
If you would like to receive a newsletter before next year's Memorial, please send your address to me, either in a private message or through the post office box.
If you wish to donate money to the Cemetery in memory of a loved one, please include that along with your donations.
This Cemetery is run on donations, and by the families taking care of their loved one's stones. There are a few stones that need repair, and we will try to get in contact with the families to get that done.

The Cemetery has the following expenses:
Electric (HCEC)
Water (City of Grapeland)
Mowing (E. C. Lawn Service)
Building insurance (RVOS)

As there were a few abnormal water bills last year, the water is currently shut off and locked, with the restrooms out of order.

20 present for the business meeting. 27 for the church service, which Bro. John Goss preached. Tammy Jo Anderson and Stewart Anderson sang a few songs this morning.

May 17 will be our annual Parker Cemetery Memorial. There will be a business meeting around 10 a.m., and then Brother John Goss will bring a message. Tammy and Stewart Anderson will be providing the music.

Attendance at Memorials is getting sparser by the year. Parker Cemetery is maintained by donations from folks who have family buried here. Every year on the weekend of the Memorial, the committee members set up a table outside the Cemetery to take in donations for upkeep, and members can also mail donations in. The address for donations is:

Parker Cemetery Association
462 County Road 2305, Grapeland, TX 75844.

Thank you for helping.
