The First Christian Memorial’s Annual Membership Meeting will be Monday, September 21, at 7:00. Grapeland I.S.D.’s new superintendent, Dr. Kelly O’Sullivan is our speaker. This is a great chance to get acquainted and to celebrate Grapeland schools—the heart of the community! There will be congregational singing, with refreshments afterwards provided by the Board. Members old and new are encouraged to attend.

Congratulations to Carl Kellum, the lucky winner of the First Christian Memorial’s first raffle. He will take home the Beretta A300 Ultima 12 gauge shotgun. Thanks to all who participated, the FCM board, and Wayne and Christina Stewart. The money raised will help preserve this historic building we love so much.

Please come to the Quilt Guild show at the First Christian Memorial tomorrow (Saturday) from 9-2. There’s a raffle for a handmade quilt, a bake sale, and quilting books for sale. Add good time will be had by all!

Thanks so much to Wayne and Christina Stewart and their family, for hosting the 1st Annual Benefit Sporting Clay shoot, at their Iron Hill shooting range in Augusta. The First Christian Memorial gained about $1,000 from registrations, raffle ticket sales, and sales of Kim Smith’s famous pulled pork sandwiches. Board members Jeffrey Owens, Linda Neal, Kim Smith, Tom Streetman, and Susan Williams hope the community will continue to support the Memorial. Please attend the Quilt Guild show and bake sale this Saturday!

We invite you to participate in our Sporting Clay shoot scheduled for next weekend. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase and the drawing will take place on May 23rd following the quilt show at the Little White Church. Today May 7, 2026 the National Day of prayer was held at First Christian Memorial in Grapeland. It was organized by President Truman in 1952. This year’s theme was to glorify God Among the Nations.
