🛠️ Mission Trip Update! 🙌

Our team is hard at work in Menard, TX! Four teens and four adults have spent the week serving a local homeowner through repairs and renovations.

Today marks Day 3, and we’re making great progress! The priming is finished, new siding is going up, and we’re installing trim around windows and doors before giving the house a fresh coat of paint. It’s amazing to see the transformation taking shape!

But the work isn’t just happening on the house—God is at work in our hearts too.

Each evening, we’ve been talking about what it means to live open-handed with God—living in surrender to Jesus, trusting Him, and accepting His way over our own.

📖 Day 1: Become Like Little Children
We learned that we come to God just as we are—even in our mess, struggles, and imperfections—trusting that our Heavenly Father welcomes us and helps us.

📖 Day 2: Humble Yourselves
We learned to let go of the desire to be the greatest and instead trust, obey, and serve. God’s children take on the heart of a servant.

Thank you for your prayers! Please continue praying for safety, strength, good weather, and that God would keep shaping us as we serve and learn together.

What does God really want from His people?

More church attendance?
More religious activity?
More rituals?

Through the prophet Isaiah, God gives a surprising answer. He calls His people to a faith that is more than outward religion—a faith that transforms hearts, seeks justice, loves neighbors, and serves others in the name of Christ.

Did you miss worship this Sunday? Or did the message encourage and challenge you?

Take a few moments to watch (or rewatch) this week’s sermon:

“Leave Your Jar and Go!”
Leaving Our Seats and Hitting the Streets with the Good News of Jesus

In John 4, Jesus crosses every barrier to reach one Samaritan woman with the Living Water of the Gospel. Her life is transformed, and she immediately goes and tells others about the Messiah she has encountered.

What does her story teach us about our own calling to be witnesses?

What “jar” might we need to leave behind?

And what would happen if ordinary Christians began sharing their stories of what Jesus has done in their lives?

Jesus crossed every barrier because one soul was worth the cost.

The woman didn’t have training, a program, a strategy, a building, a budget, or a seminary degree. She had a story. And she went and told it.

If this message blessed you, please consider sharing it with a friend, family member, coworker, or neighbor. You never know how God might use a simple invitation or shared testimony to change a life.

Join us this Sunday at Grapeland First Methodist Church as we gather to worship, celebrate Holy Communion, and hear a message from John 4 titled:

"Leave Your Jar and Go!"
Leaving Our Seats and Hitting the Streets with the Good News of Jesus

When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well, He crossed every social, cultural, and religious barrier to bring Living Water to a thirsty soul. That encounter changed her life—and she immediately went and told others.

What does her story teach us about our calling as followers of Christ?

What "jar" might we need to leave behind?

And how can ordinary people become faithful witnesses to the extraordinary grace of Jesus?

We invite you to come worship with us as we explore these questions together and gather at the Lord's Table.

Are we truly following Jesus… or are we just playing church?

This past Sunday, we looked at Jesus’ final instructions before Pentecost and the power He promised through the Holy Spirit. Christ did not call us to comfortable religion. He called us to be His witnesses, make disciples, and join Him in His mission to the world.

The challenge is simple:

🔥 No more games.
🔥 No more excuses.
🔥 No more “playing church.”

If Jesus is Savior, then He is also Lord.

The same Spirit that empowered the first disciples has been given to us. The question is: What will we do with that gift?

Watch, share, and join the conversation:

ALL IN: No More “Playing Church”
📖 Acts 1:1–8; Acts 2:1–14

If this message challenges or encourages you, consider sharing it with a friend.

This morning’s sermon:

Wisdom in the Wild: Solomon-Level Wisdom for a Distracted Age
Part 1: The Beginning of Wisdom

We live in a world overflowing with information, technology, opinions, and distractions. We can answer almost any question in seconds—but are we becoming wiser?

Join us as we explore Proverbs’ surprising answer:

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”

What does that mean?
Why does it matter?
And how can we cultivate true wisdom in an age of endless noise?

Come worship with us, grow in God’s Word, and discover the kind of wisdom that leads to life.

🔥 Breath, Wind, Fire: The Spirit Then and Now 🔥

What if many of us are living as though we’re still waiting for God to show up… while Pentecost declares that He already has?

This Pentecost message follows the story of God’s Spirit through Scripture—from creation, to the Psalms, to Jesus, and finally to the outpouring at Pentecost. Discover how the Holy Spirit is not just power for special moments, but God’s gift of life, restoration, holiness, and daily fellowship with Him.

This service also includes a time of honoring and remembering those who gave their lives in service to our nation as we approach Memorial Day.

Watch, rewatch, reflect, and share with someone who may need encouragement today.
