Our bus is on its way back to St. Edward after a successful March for Life trip in Washington D.C. Thank you to The Catholic Foundation for making this possible for our community and to the talented people who made our bright green hats!

We pray that our Parishioners stay warm and safe this weekend. Please see the Diocese statement on Mass.

In preparation for the forecasted winter storm, we want to remind the faithful to always use prudential judgment when traveling.

Whenever a county/city within the Diocese of Columbus is placed under a Level 3 Snow Emergency, driving is prohibited, and so all the faithful in that area are excused from the obligation to attend Mass. If the priest lives at the church, he may still decide to celebrate a public Mass for those who can safely walk to Mass if he deems it possible.

Regardless of the level of Snow Emergency, one who discerns it a danger to travel for Mass is excused from the obligation to do so (as is true of someone who is sick or otherwise impeded from safely traveling to or attending Mass).

For those who cannot attend Mass, you are encouraged to participate in Holy Mass via television, radio, or the internet, making a spiritual Communion.

If you need to find the emergency snow level for your county or the county that your parish is in, contact the local sheriff's office. You can find contact information for the Ohio county sheriffs here: https://buckeyesheriffs.org/contact-your-sheriff/

Bishop Earl K. Fernandes and the Diocese of Columbus gratefully welcome Pope Leo XIV's first exhortation of his pontificate, 𝘋𝘐𝘓𝘌𝘟𝘐 𝘛𝘌.

𝘋𝘐𝘓𝘌𝘟𝘐 𝘛𝘌, composed as a follow up to the Encyclical 𝘋𝘐𝘓𝘌𝘟𝘐𝘛 𝘕𝘖𝘚, was originally started by the late Pope Francis at the end of his life. The Encyclical focuses on the Church's care for the poor and was completed by Pope Leo XIV after including some additional reflections.

We as the Church are provided with a glimpse into how we should care for the poor as our Lord did, as is noted throughout the scriptures. Further, we must challenge some of our own ideological prejudices that can cause us to be indifferent to the suffering of others.

As we contemplate Christ’s love, “we too are inspired to be more attentive to the sufferings and needs of others and confirmed in our efforts to share in his work of liberation as instruments for the spread of his love.” (DT 2)
