Master Trooper Jason R. Vindich, a dedicated member of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, tragically passed away on January 25, 2026, after an off-duty accident at home. With a career spanning over 22 years, Jason was not only a respected officer but also a family man, known for his leadership, commitment, and love for his wife and children.
A talented baseball player in his youth, Jason earned All-American honors in college before pursuing a career in law enforcement. Throughout his service, he became a mentor and role model to younger officers, always leading by example and embodying the values of justice and integrity.
Jason’s sudden death has left a deep void in the Highway Patrol family. His unwavering dedication to his community and family will never be forgotten. As his loved ones cope with this loss, we remember his legacy of service and sacrifice.
