As David continues his kingship, God uses him to display HIS covenant faithfulness. In 2 Samuel 9 we see David remaining faithful to his covenant with Saul's family through Jonathan. When there is no reason for grace to be shown to Saul's family, David brings honor to the shamed Mephibosheth, Jonathan's son. King David's actions give us a glimpse of the merciful Savior in King Jesus. This story speaks of the restoration, forgiveness, and transformation that occur when we are saved by the blood of Jesus. Jesus brings a reversal of the despair, gloom, and drought that gripped our lives prior to knowing Him. Join us as we see "The Power of Promise"!

The ark and presence of God has been brought up to Jerusalem. David, resting from his enemies, finds it uncomfortable that he lives in a cedar palace while the Ark of God sits in a tent. Although David wants to build God a "house", God says no. It's not the right timing. God actually has a better plan! 2 Samuel 7 centers on God’s promise to establish David’s dynasty forever, reversing David's desire to build a physical house for Him. God promises to build a "house" (dynasty) for David, pointing toward an eternal king (Jesus). Through God's covenant faithfulness we are encouraged to trust God’s plans over our own. This is how we should respond "When God Says No"!
