David Platt once said, "Sin is serious. God is gracious. Confession is the connection. Restoration is the result." This message quickly follows the account of David's sin against God through his sinful actions with Bathsheba and her husband, Uriah. Sin is an infinitely serious offense against God, but by his grace and mercy we can be forgiven and restored to God through honest and humble confession. We must remember, the goal is the restoration of joy we find in salvation through Jesus. Join us this week as we see "How to be Made Right with God"!

If we're not careful, sin will overwhelm us in the most unexpected times! In 2 Samuel 11 we find that life is actually pretty good for David at this point. The kingdom is established; everyone loves him. Go back and read 2 Samuel 10, and you’ll see that David has just emerged the victor of a whole slew of battles. David was living a blessed life. It may seem surprising to us that David’s sin comes at a moment of extreme blessing. In this most familiar story in the scriptures we find out that we can never drop our guard, or else we will slide down "The Slippery Slope of Sin"!
