Whether you feel it or not, prayer IS doing something.
It is impossible to accomplish nothing in prayer. For every moment you are praying you ARE changing, you ARE growing, you ARE becoming like Christ. There is not a wasted moment in prayer, how could it be possible that I spend even a second in God's presence without it affecting me in some way?

Have you ever been in a season of "blah" ? Do you go to church and it's just a spirit of discouragement? It's not what the pastor preaches or what the choir has sung, it's just not what you expected, not what you needed. Maybe the crowd was off, people on vacation, people out sick. Almost anything can affect the Spirit in a church service.
You may ask yourself, is it me? or, What can I do?
the #1 thing you can do is seek Gods face not only for yourself but also for your church and especially your Pastor. I can guarantee if you felt like the service was not up to par then your pastor felt it ten fold. And its a burden he will carry with him the following week. The second thing you can do is prepare yourself for the next service. Dig into your Bible, and Listen to worship music and just see what God does in your heart the next time you and your church family meet.

Being Heavenly minded in an Earthly setting doesn't mean seeing the wrong in people. It's seeing their need for Jesus, and pointing them to Christ.

We're prone to discouragement when we isolate ourselves from other Christians. Jezebel's threat worked and Elijah fled alone from Beersheba. But in doing this, he left anyone that could encourage him at his most discouraged point.
In nature, lone animals are the most vulnerable. When the stragglers, the weak, or the young are left behind, they're easy prey for a hungry predator.
But as Christians, we have a much more dangerous Enemy. The Bible tells us that the devil is like a roaring lion constantly on the prowl for isolated Christians ( 1 Peter 5:8)
When we are alone, we are easy targets for his attacks.
When we seclude ourselves from others who can encourage or strengthen us, we are prone to discouragement. Because of this we must remain faithful to church. In fact, Hebrews 10:25 commands us to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together. The author of Hebrews knew that God's people needed each other most when times are tough. God designed the church to be a place where believers could encourage and love one another through the good times and bad.
