Hi All: Yesterday in the announcements I forgot to say Thank You! for all the birthday greetings that I got on Facebook. It was a different kind of birthday since we were in Pittsburgh and spent the day listening to theologians talk at the Lutheran CORE Theological Conference. Betty and I did spend the evening on a Dinner Cruise on the Gateway Clipper going down the Ohio River on the Lock and Dam Tour. Thank You All for the Greetings!

IN YOUR PRAYERS: Today (March 3rd) we learned that our adopted friend at Lutheran Home West fell last Tuesday and broke a hip. Please remember Iva Dean in your prayers.

The Faithlife.com Group for Christ United has been taken down. Some features would not work, the Calendar was a disaster. Times for events were wrong and could not be changed. Thanks to the dozen or so that tried it out. We are working on another plan. Watch for updates.

CALL COMMITTEE BEING FORMED: Christ United is getting ready for its next step. Call committees are appointed by a church council. Six representative members are needed (young-old, male-female). If you are interested in serving please let Michael Heavner know.

DO YOU PRAY FOR CHRIST UNITED?
A year ago I spoke about the importance of Prayer for the life of Christ United Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. A church is built on prayer, and trust in God’s work. You are invited to print the following prayer, and pray it every day.

Father in Heaven, this is a new day. I commit myself to the role you have invited me to play, as you are building your church in this world. I am thankful that you have included me in your kingdom and in the ministry of Christ United Lutheran Church. So today I offer you: My Love / My Heart / My Talents / My Energy / My Creativity / My Faithfulness / and My Gratitude!

I give myself to the role you have given to me in the life of Christ United Lutheran Church so that it may grow in Granite Falls. Help me to tell others about your love so that your Name may be glorified, through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Remember the apostle Paul's words: "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10). No doubt about it—He's created you to do the things He's already prepared for you to do, right where you are today.

This can be an empowering prayer—who knows where it will lead? Will you pray it every day?
