Sunday, April 5 – He Is Risen! (Resurrection Sunday)

Reading: John 20

Reflection: The cross was not the end of the story. John 20 shows us the glorious truth- Jesus is risen! Death could not hold Him, and the grave could not keep Him.

From the very beginning, in the Garden of Eden, God promised that He would deal with our sin problem and the serpent would be crushed (Genesis 3:15). That promise was fulfilled! “The death of Jesus on the cross was the payment, and the resurrection was the receipt, showing that the payment was perfect in the sight of God the Father.” (Enduring Word Bible Commentary)

This day calls for celebration! New life is available to all who believe! The One who was pierced, crushed, and rejected now lives forever. The power that raised Him from the dead is alive in all who trust in Him too, offering hope, joy, and eternal life.

How can the power of the resurrection impact your daily life, choices, and hope?
How can you celebrate and share the hope of the resurrection with others?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, Thank You for rising from the dead! Thank You for conquering sin and death and for giving me new life through You. Fill me with resurrection joy. Help me to live in the light of this victory every day and to share this life-changing truth with those around me. May my heart overflow with gratitude, my words with praise, and my life with evidence of Your resurrection power.

Thank you for joining on the Journey to Resurrection Sunday! Please don’t let this be the end of daily spending time in God’s Word.

Now, let’s worship King Jesus!👑

Saturday, April 4 – The Suffering Servant

Reading: Isaiah 52:13–53:12 & Psalm 22

Reflection: Isaiah prophesies the suffering of Christ in stunning detail—written hundreds of years before the cross. Jesus would be despised, rejected, pierced, and crushed—not for His own sin, but for ours.

Psalm 22 echoes the very words and emotions Jesus would later cry from the cross: “My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?” It reveals the depth of His suffering—the sense of abandonment, the mocking, and the physical agony He endured.

Together, these Scriptures remind us that the cross was not random or unexpected—it was the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. Jesus was not a victim; He was the willing sacrifice.
This was always God’s plan—to redeem the people He created and loves. Jesus bore our griefs, carried our sorrows, and took our punishment once and for all, so that we could be bought back.

How do these Scriptures deepen your understanding of Jesus’ sacrifice?

This day sits in the tension between death and resurrection—a reminder that God is still working even in silence.

Can you trust God even when He feels silent?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for carrying my sin and sorrow. In seasons of waiting or silence, help me trust that You are still at work. Deepen my gratitude for the price You paid.

Friday, April 3 – The Cross of Christ (Good Friday)

Reading: Matthew 27

Reflection: Today’s reading calls us to pause and consider the cost of our salvation. Jesus is mocked, beaten, and crucified—though completely innocent. The crowd that once shouted “Hosanna” now cries out, “Crucify Him.” In these moments, we see both the depth of human sin and the immeasurable depth of Jesus’ love.

He endures rejection, suffering, and death—not by accident, but by choice. Every step toward the cross is an act of surrender to the Father’s will and an act of love for us. The darkness that covers the land reflects the heaviness of what is taking place, yet even here, God is at work bringing about redemption.

When Jesus cries out and gives up His spirit, the curtain in the temple is torn in two—signifying that the barrier between God and humanity has been removed. Because of His sacrifice, we are invited into a restored relationship with God.

John records in his gospel that Jesus' last words were, “It is finished.” The debt of sin is paid in full.

Take time to sit in the weight of this moment. He did this for you.
How should this change the way you live?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for enduring the cross for me. Thank You for willingly enduring suffering, rejection, and death in my place. Forgive me for the times I have taken Your sacrifice lightly or lived as if it didn’t matter. Help me to truly see the cost of my salvation. Thank You that the curtain was torn and that I now have access to the Father because of You. Today, I lay my sins, my burdens, and my will at the foot of the cross. Help me live a life that honors what You have done.
