Hey Outcast Family,
I wanted to share a personal update and ask for continued prayers for some very dear friends of ours, Ben and Val. They have been family to us in so many ways over the years beginning with our very first ministerial position in Iron Mountain, MI.
Charity and I received news on Friday that Val was in her final days and booked the soonest flight and accommodations we could get and left Saturday evening. We got into Green Bay around 12:30am (Sunday) and were at the hospital by 1:00am. Val couldn’t talk anymore but opened her eyes when we arrived. We were able to visit a bit with Ben, and I prayed with them.
Ben told us this morning that Val passed on to heaven about an hour after we left the hospital. It hit home and it hit hard. (Val and Charity were born in the same year). He said she went peacefully and was “glowing”at the end, her eyes opened wide and she smiled. Charity and I are deeply grateful we got to see her one more time on this side of heaven and we’re honored we got to be her last visitors. We’ll be heading up to Iron Mountain, MI tomorrow and plan to be back on Wednesday.
We’re both devastated and are asking for your prayers for the family as a whole, for strength and peace, and me and Charity for endurance as we go up to serve them and help bring them comfort in this terrible time. We love all of you and appreciate your understanding.
Tomorrow is never promised, so make sure the people you love know it. We’ll see you soon.
Love to all of you-
Victor + Charity
