John 14:12
Verily verily I say unto you he that believe on me, the works that I do shall he do also and greater works than these shall he do because I go to the father.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever.
Jesus has been with the father for over 2000 years. Why haven’t we seen greater works? We have the resources, TV radio Internet and cell phones. We have seen God do many great things, but why haven’t we seen more miracles?
The reason the church today doesn’t see the greater works is because we forgotten who we are!
Paul uses “ ABBA Father” in Romans 8:15 and Galatians 4:6 to express the intimate relationship the believer has with God.
We have lost our intimacy with God.
We no longer do the will of the father, but we have become casual in our relationship with God.
Matthew 7:21
Not everyone that saith to me, Lord Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of the father.
What is the will of the father?
Matthew 28:19-20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the father the son and the Holy Ghost teaching them to observe all things whatsoever. I have commanded you.
The Roman King would advance his kingdom by sending out his governors to different cities on his behalf. The governors would then inform the people of the king’s new decrees or commands.
We call this process church. Jesus taught the disciples to spread his word and to be kingdom builders. We have stopped being the church that Jesus called us to be. We have become casual in our relationship with God and the church has turned into a bunch of rituals.
We have forgotten who we are.
Matthew 11:27
All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
Genesis 1:26
And God said, let us make man in our image and after our likeness.
The enemy wants you to see yourself because he can discount what you see, but he can’t discount who you are. The Holy Spirit will lead you and guide you where you need to go. We need to stop being casual Christians and start seeking the kingdom of God and his righteousness..
The enemy will try to bring up your past and make you feel like a failure, but there are two things you can do, you can run from it or you can learn from it.
Look harder in the word of God.
Look harder at yourself and know you are the child of a king.
Remember you are made in his image and in his likeness. When people see you, do they see the Jesus in you? Is your relationship with God casual or is it intimate?
In closing, when the enemy comes to bring up your past or to tell you about your failures, remind him of who you are. You are a child of the king of kings and Lord of Lords.
