5/31/2026 Sunday Service - "Trusting in Jesus" by Rev. Warren Huffines, guest pastor

Readings - Isaiah 44:6-8, Philippians 2:5-11 and Matthew 28:16-20

Invocation/Confession & Absolution

P In the name of the Father and of the † Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.

P: O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!
C: You have set Your glory above the heavens.

P: And God said, “Let there be light,”
C: and there was light.

P: And God saw everything that He had made,
C: and behold, it was very good.

P: Let us come before God with our sins to acknowledge them before Him and in the presence of one another.
C: Heavenly Father, we confess that we have failed to be the people You have created us to be. We daily miss the mark of being very good, and we fail to be Your representatives in the care of Your good creation. With the early disciples, although we do believe, sometimes we doubt. Only by Your grace are we able to come before You and find peace and joy. Remind us of Your great love and mercy for us.

P: Jesus has joyful work for us to do. He has commanded us to go, teach, and baptize. And, despite our sins, He also promised, “Behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” God’s majesty is not only in creating the world in which we live but in loving us despite our daily failures. He sent His Son to forgive our every sin.
As David wrote, “I saw the Lord always before me, for He is at my right hand that I may not be shaken” As a called and ordained servant of Christ and by His authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the † Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen.

5/17/2026 Sunday Service - "Why Did He Go?"

Readings - Acts 1:1-11, Ephesians 1:15-23 and Luke 24:44-53

Invocation/Confession & Absolution

P In the name of the Father and of the †Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.

P: Blessed Lord God, King of the universe, You rule and reign over all things.
C: And yet, we arrogantly elevate ourselves above others and above You.

P: You sent Your Son, Jesus, as a model of humility, as a servant of all.
C: And yet, we neglect needs of others and prioritize our interests above Yours.

P: Jesus became human like us in all respects.
C: And yet, we refuse to see others’ struggles, withholding our affection and sympathy.

P: Christ offered Himself as our substitute, giving His very life for us.
C: And yet, we stubbornly and selfishly hoard our gifts from others and from You.

P: Now exalted above all things, it is at the name of Jesus that every knee should bow.
C: And yet, it’s our heart’s sinful condition to seek its own glory.

P: We confess our sins:
C: Forgive our sins, O Lord. Make our ambitions model those of our Savior, Jesus, that our words and deeds might confess that He is Lord, to the glory of Your name. Amen.

P: Our Lord Jesus Christ, having all authority in heaven and on earth, has given Himself for you. Bearing the marks of His sacrifice in His own body, He has made a place for you in eternal glory, declaring your sins forgiven in the name of the Father and of the †Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen.

"Victory Lap" by Seminarian Travis Galle (his last service with us as a seminarian)

Readings - Acts 17:16-31, 1 Peter 3:13-22 and John 14:15-21

Invocation/Confession & Absolution

P In the name of the Father and of the †Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.

P: Our help is in the name of the LORD,
C: who made heaven and earth.

P: Jesus said, “I will not leave you as orphans;
C: I will come to you.”

P: So we can confidently say,
C: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

P: We confess: Father, we have neglected You and Your commandments.
C: Forgive us, Lord.

P: Jesus, we have doubted Your Word and failed to display Your love to others.
C: Forgive us, Lord.

P: Spirit, we have trusted our own sinful hearts rather than seeking Your truth.
C: Forgive us, Lord.

P: O Triune God, look on us in mercy and make Your dwelling within us.
C: Restore us as Your rescued people to seek Your holy will. Amen.

P: To save you from sin, the Father gave you His very own Son. On His cross, Jesus paid your debt and rose to declare, “because I live, you also will live.” By the Spirit’s power, we trust in the pardon won for us by Christ, our Lord. In the stead and by the command of Jesus Christ, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the † Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen.
