This week at Grace Church East, Pastor Steve McKinney begins a brand-new series through the book of Philippians with Part 1: “How the Gospel Produces Change”

Have you ever wondered why real, lasting change can seem so difficult?

The book of Philippians reminds us that true transformation doesn’t come from trying harder—it comes from the power of the Gospel at work within us. Written by the Apostle Paul while imprisoned, this deeply personal letter reveals how God changes hearts, shapes identity, and produces joy even in the most difficult circumstances.

In this message, we’ll discover how the Gospel produces:
• A new identity in Christ
• Grace and peace for everyday life
• Gratitude that leads to joy
• Confidence in God’s promises
• Hearts transformed by His grace

No amount of guilt, shame, or self-effort can accomplish what the Gospel of Jesus Christ can do. God is still at work, and He promises to complete the good work He has begun in us.

Join us as we begin this exciting journey through Philippians and discover how the Gospel continues to change lives today.

This week at Grace Church East, Pastor Steve McKinney returns with a message titled: “The Danger of Prayer... And How to Fix It”

Prayer is one of the most important parts of the Christian life—but sometimes it can become something God never intended.

Have you ever felt like:
• You don't pray enough?
• You don't know the right words?
• Your prayers aren't as good as someone else's?
• God is expecting more from you than you can give?

This week, we'll explore how prayer can become pressured, performance-driven, and filled with comparison—and how Jesus invites us into something far better.

Instead of a ritual to perfect, prayer is meant to be:
• A place to be honest with God
• A place where we simply show up
• A place where we are accepted as His children

Because through Christ, we don't approach God as performers trying to earn His approval—we come confidently as sons and daughters welcomed into the presence of a loving Father.

Join us as we discover how to move from the pressure of prayer to the peace of simply being with God.

This week at Grace Church East, we’re excited to welcome guest speaker Gary Hinrichs with a powerful message titled:
“Choose Fear – Experience Peace”

What does it really mean to fear the Lord?

In a culture that often treats God casually, this message calls us back to a deeper understanding of who He is—holy, powerful, loving, and worthy of awe. The fear of the Lord isn’t about terror or punishment… it’s about reverence, obedience, and walking closely with Him.

Together we’ll explore:

Why the fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom
How reverence for God changes the way we live
And how choosing holy awe leads to peace, joy, and deeper intimacy with Him

When we truly honor God, it transforms our choices, our worship, and our relationship with Him.

Join us for this encouraging and challenging message as we discover how the fear of the Lord leads not to bondage—but to freedom, peace, and the presence of God.

This week at Grace Church East, we continue our series:
“Where is God in the Pain?” with Part 3:
“The Cause”

Why is there suffering, brokenness, fear, conflict, and pain in the world?
In this message, we go back to Genesis 3 to understand what happened at the Fall—and how its effects still shape our lives today. Sin didn’t just affect humanity spiritually… it fractured peace within us, damaged relationships, broke creation itself, and brought suffering into the world.

But the story doesn’t end there.

Through Jesus, what was broken can be redeemed:
• Broken fellowship becomes reconciliation
• Fear is replaced with love
• Shame gives way to grace
• And hopelessness is met with restoration

No matter how deep the brokenness feels, God’s redemption reaches deeper still.

Join us as we discover not only the cause of pain—but the hope found in Christ in the middle of it.
