🙏 Please join the Iowa Annual Conference in prayer for the Muscatine community.

God of comfort and peace,

We lift up the community of Muscatine and all those affected by this heartbreaking tragedy. Surround grieving families and friends with your love, and bring comfort to all whose hearts are heavy.

In the midst of sorrow, remind us that your presence is near to the brokenhearted. Help us to be instruments of your peace, compassion, and hope.

Amen.

Join us in prayer for those affected by the Ebola outbreak in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and South Sudan.

With over 600 cases reported and over 200 suspected deaths so far, this strain of the virus, which has no vaccine, is rapidly spreading across a region already suffering from conflict and lack of healthcare access.

In response, Global Ministries' Global Health Unit is deploying an initial grant of $20,000 to the United Methodist East Congo Health Board to support critical frontline interventions in and around the 10 UMC health facilities in Ituri Province, DRC, including:
-Infection prevention and control, including the distribution of handwashing kits
-Provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe case management training for healthcare workers in the UMC health facilities
-Provision of essential medication to UMC health facilities in the region

What can you do to help?
🛐 Pray for those impacted, especially those who have lost loved ones and the responding medical professionals.
