Today we looked at the ruins of the cities and battles at Megiddo—histories of warfare. Yet Jesus says He isn't calling down legions of angels to fight; He is turning our graves into gardens. He isn't finished rewriting the story.

We aren't here to fight for power; we’re here to be "Shalom-bringers"—bringing His peace into a chaotic world.

In Hebrew, the word 'Tel' means an artificial hill of debris built up over time, built and rebuilt, on the same location. If you were to excavate the hill you'd find evidence of previous cities and civilizations.

Our own stories can look like a Tel... histories, defeats, hurts, feeling buried underneath all sorts of other stories... but God can still use the pain of our hills to redeem us. God promises to meet us in those tough spots, even if He has to use the stories we'd rather keep buried under all that debris.

As we go through the rest of this week, remember the invitation of the Communion table: we are called to lay down our baggage, extend forgiveness to one another, and move forward together in love.

Our lives are like an archaeological Tel: layered with history, victories, and deep hurts. God promises to meet us in the middle of this world's brokenness and never let our pain go to waste.

You and yours are invited to join us Sunday morning at 10am for worship, bible study and reflection, and prayer.

We are starting a new sermon series, "Let me 'Tel' You A Story."
In Hebrew, תֵּל ('Tel') means the ruin or mound where a city once stood. We'll be looking at some of these cities and what their 'Tel' has to say and how that still relates to our walk with God today.
