Today's Scripture
“If two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Matthew 18:19–20, NKJV

Find an Isaiah

In 2 Chronicles 32, when the king of Syria invaded Judah with a huge army and threatened to destroy Jerusalem, King Hezekiah got together with the prophet Isaiah, and they started praying faith-filled prayers and speaking victory. Rather than panic, they declared God’s favor, and He sent an angel to destroy the Syrian army.

When you feel bombarded by doubt, fear, and opposition, find someone full of faith who will stand in agreement with you. The Scripture says, “One can chase a thousand, but two can put ten thousand to flight.” In these difficult times where so much shaking is going on, you need to find an Isaiah. Find someone who says, “If you believe you’re going to get well, if you believe you’re going to overcome the setback, if you believe you’re going to do great things, count me in. I’m a believer, and I’m in agreement. With God all things are possible.” Keep your mind on God’s promises, speak victory in the face of the opposition, and it will be done for you.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that there is no problem that is too big for You. Thank You that I can gather with the true believers You’ve brought into my life and we can agree together that You will be done. I believe that as we come together, You are in our midst to bring victory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
“These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your Heavenly Father already knows all your needs.”
Matthew 6:32, NLT

All Your Needs
We all have plenty of reasons to live worried and stressed, trying to fix everything in our own strength. That’s overwhelming. Come back to a place of peace. Your Heavenly Father knows all your needs. He knows what you’re facing. He knows the dreams He’s placed in your heart. He sees the struggles, the unfair situations, the times you were put at a disadvantage. You don’t have to do life on your own, trying to make up for it, trying to accomplish the dream. Jesus says, “Come to Me, and I will give you rest.” Stop depending on your own efforts, your own ability. That striving is draining. If you start depending on Him, you’ll feel that load lift off you. God has you in the palms of His hands. He hasn’t let go of you. If you’re going to feel His strength and see His favor, you have to put Him first place and abide in Him. You can only do so much in your own efforts. Do what you can, and then leave it up to God.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I do not have to keep being trapped in worry about things over which I have no control. Thank You that You will provide me with exactly what I need when I need it. I choose to rest and be at peace, knowing that You will work it for my good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Mark 2:5, NIV

Ripping-Off-the-Roof Faith
In Mark 2, four friends put a paralyzed man on a stretcher and carried him to a house where Jesus was teaching. In effect, they were saying, “We’re taking you to Jesus. You may not think you can ever walk again, but we are believing for you. You can borrow our faith.” When they got there, the house was so packed they couldn’t get in. Rather than give up, they carried the man to the roof, took off the covering, and lowered him to Jesus. It says that “when Jesus saw their faith,” He healed the man. It wasn’t the faith of the paralyzed man but his friends. They lifted him, carried him, believed for him, and refused to give up. They had ripping-off-the-roof faith.

God has put people in your life strategically so you can be a friend with faith. Don’t miss the opportunity, don’t be so busy with your needs and goals that you miss carrying someone to their healing, praying for the friend who’s hurting, lifting a coworker who’s discouraged. Let them borrow your faith.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You see my faith and that You honor my faith in You. Thank You for the power of faith to carry others to their healing, to their comforting, to their encouragement. Help me to have a ripping-off-the-roof faith to share with others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
“Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”
John 8:10–11, NLT

Thrown Mercy
Jesus was teaching in the temple when the religious leaders dragged a woman caught in adultery in front of the crowd and said, “The law of Moses says to stone her. What do You say?” She was guilty, deeply shamed, without a defense. Rather than answer, “Jesus stooped to the ground and wrote in the dust with his finger.” They may have thought He was stooping down to pick up a rock to throw, but He stooped down to throw mercy. He said, “You who are without sin, go ahead and throw the first stone.” It was dead silence until one man walked out, then another and another. It wasn’t until all the men left that Jesus stood up and spoke the words of forgiveness in today’s Scripture.

This story signifies how God will get dirty to rescue you. He’s not a God who just stays in the heavens. He’s a God who stoops in the dirt to restore someone caught in sin, shame, and disgrace. His way is to free you from guilt and release you from condemnation.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that Your love is the real love that I need to change my life. Thank You that You sent Jesus to stoop into my dirt and free me from all condemnation for my sins. I receive Your mercy now, and I believe I am free from all guilt. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
David asked the men standing near him, “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”
1 Samuel 17:26, NIV

Seek the Kingdom
When David went out to face Goliath, his brothers made fun of him, his father didn’t think he had what it takes, and King Saul said he was too young and inexperienced. No one believed in him, but he didn’t go out to prove to them who he was. It wasn’t about proving; it was about fulfilling his purpose. He saw a giant defying the armies of the living God. If David had gone out just to prove himself to people, to show them he was a giant killer, to feed his ego, he wouldn’t have seen God’s favor. His motives were to advance the kingdom. He wasn’t doing it for people’s applause, for fame, for influence, for a position. It was about honoring God. When you have the right motives in life, God will take your slingshot and cause you to defeat a giant. He’ll open doors you couldn’t open. He’ll cause you to look good, to be honored, to be admired. You weren’t seeking fame, trying to impress, trying to outperform; you were seeking the kingdom.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that when I put You and Your kingdom first and am doing the right thing, You make the right things fall into place. Thank You for Your promise that as I honor You, I am also fulfilling my purpose. Help me to live with the right motives and to be free from people pleasing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”
John 5:8, NLT

Take That Step of Faith
In John 5, when Jesus asked a disabled man, “Do you want to get well?” he made excuses and tried to justify his condition rather than answering, “Yes, that’s what I’m believing for.” After thirty-eight discouraging years of having this disability, the man had gotten comfortable in his dysfunction and lost his passion to be well. But when he heard Jesus’ call to do the impossible and rise up and walk, something rose up in him to try, and against all odds a sudden strength came into his legs and he was instantly healed.

As with this man, God is going to ask you to do things that you don’t think you can do. In your own ability, you can’t, but when you take that step of faith, God will step in and give you supernatural ability. That’s because there’s favor in your calling. In your calling, you’ll break addictions, beat cancer, and defeat depression. God is saying, “I’m calling you up higher, into abundance, into freedom. I’m calling you to new levels.”

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that with Your calling upon my life comes the power to release any old thinking, old habits, discouragement, and dysfunction that would keep me stuck. I’m dropping the excuses that hold me back and taking steps of faith for a new beginning today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
When Jesus saw the men, he said, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” As the ten men were going, they were healed.
Luke 17:14, NCV

Keep on Walking
In Luke 17, Jesus was met by ten lepers who began to shout, “Jesus, have mercy on us!” Jesus could have spoken a word and healed them, but instead He said, “Go show yourselves to the priests,” which didn’t make sense. They could have thought, “Once we’re healed, we’ll go to the priests.” But faith says you have to believe it and act on it before you see it.

I can imagine that the lepers started walking what could have been several miles to the priests and in the first couple of hours didn’t see any change. Thoughts said, “Go home. You’re wasting your time.” But they kept walking even though there was no sign of healing. Finally, one of them looked at his skin and said, “It’s getting better!” Another began to move his hand and said, “My fingers are working!” The Scripture says, “As they went, they were healed.” If they had waited for things to change, they wouldn’t have seen the healing. Many times, the miracle is in the process of obedience to Jesus’ word.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the promises You have put in my heart that haven’t happened yet. Thank You that I can keep walking in obedience to Your Word and not be distracted by what I don’t see. I’m going to keep praising, keep thanking, and I know that what I’m believing in is on the way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
…you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.
Philippians 4:8, MSG

Think Better
The Scripture tells us to meditate on God’s Word day and night. The word “meditate” means “to think about over and over.” We need to pay attention to what we’re meditating on. What you allow to play in your mind will determine what kind of life you live. Meditating on problems doesn’t make them better; it makes them worse. Your life is going to follow your thoughts. When you think better, you will live better.

Paul tells us to think about things that are wholesome, pure, and of good report. If it’s not a good report, don’t dwell on it, because it’s going to poison your spirit. Instead of replaying the doom and gloom over and over, replay what God says. Yes, the financial situation may be a little shaky, but God says He will supply all your needs. He said He will prosper you even in a time of famine. He said He will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings that you cannot contain. Go through the day meditating on that!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for giving me Your promises to meditate upon. Thank You that Your Word instructs me to think about things that are true and right, wholesome, pure, and of good report. I declare that my trust is in You alone and not in anything else. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
“But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the LORD.’”
Jonah 2:9, NIV

Celebrate the Good
In today’s Scripture, the prophet Jonah tried to run away from God and ended up getting swallowed by a great fish. It was dark and smelly, with no way out of the natural. He had plenty to complain about, but instead, he was thanking God that he was still alive. He wasn’t delivered, but at least he was spared. As he thanked God for the partial victory, God went to work and had that fish spit him up on the dry ground.

It’s easy to complain about what’s not working out. “God, it stinks where I work. The people aren’t treating me right. Get me out of here.” Complaining will only get you stuck. If you want God to turn it around, do as Jonah did and find some good things to thank Him for. Thank Him for the partial. Thank Him for where He’s brought you, thank Him for fighting your battles, thank Him for His favor on your life. If you keep celebrating partial victories, God is going to finish what He started.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your faithfulness and love and mercy in my life. Thank You for the partial victories that You have given me, and I know that You are working to bring them to completion. I believe that as I celebrate the good, I will see every promise fulfilled. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
This time GOD said, “Don’t attack them head-on. Instead, circle around behind them and ambush them from the grove of sacred trees.”
2 Samuel 5:23, MSG

The Best Path
A few months prior to today’s Scripture, the Philistines had come up the same valley, and when David inquired of the Lord as to what to do, the Lord said to attack them. When the Philistines came again after their first defeat, David could have assumed, “No need to ask God this time. I know what to do.” But David realized that yesterday’s information may not be appropriate for today’s challenge. So, he inquired of the Lord again. It was the same enemy, the same valley, but this time God said, “I have a different strategy for you.”

God’s ways are not our ways. He doesn’t want you to get hooked on a formula, He wants you to be hooked on Him. He wants you to develop this habit of getting daily direction, asking, “God, how do You want me to respond to this problem? God, give me Your wisdom, Your ideas, Your favor.” That’s how God leads you down the best path for your life. You can’t respond to every problem the same way.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your promise that You will lead me down the best path for my life as long as I keep seeking Your will. Thank You that I don’t have to figure it out on my own. Help me to not assume that I know what to do and can respond to problems the same way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
