Looking back to May 2nd, 1980—just before my 18th birthday—I was watching the race on television when Dan Fogelberg took the stage during the 106th Kentucky Derby, mesmerizing everyone with his celestial voice. He introduced "Run for the Roses," a song born of passion, written in just two days, and destined to resonate with themes of victory forever.

Oh, let me share with you why this hymn is so precious to my heart—“Because He Lives!” This hymn echoes through the corridors of my spirit,

I have sung these glorious words during worship services, feeling the presence of the Almighty wash over us. I’ve raised my voice in tribute at funeral services, reminding us all of the eternal hope we have in Yeshua (Jesus). On that day, as His beloved Son bore the weight of our sins on the cross, the Father was not a distant observer but an ever-present force, filled with divine love.

The Father God held the glorious promise of victory over sin and death within His heart, knowing that these hours would not close in darkness. No, it would burst forth into a magnificent resurrection morning, declaring ultimate victory!

You see written in 2 Corinthians 5:19, "God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself."

That is why the veil was torn, as Jesus uttered the profound declaration, "It is finished." The temple veil was torn at the moment of Jesus' death.

If only you could hear the symphony of nature accompanying these words! Today the weather started with the warmth of sunshine, but as I type, a cool breeze sweeps in, and the sky rumbles with thunder—an echo from the heavens as I speak of the “Ancient of Days”.

I couldn't help but smile when I heard a sailor shout out a heartfelt greeting, “I wish you spring.”

What a beautiful expression of hope and warmth! With March 20th fast approaching, the first day of Spring is almost here! Even if Phil saw his shadow.

As I stand before this still, ice-blanketed harbor, my heart is stirred with the hope of what lies beneath. There’s a powerful promise hidden in that frozen silence—a reminder that life is always at work, even when we can't see it. Soon, as spring breathes warmth into our world, the fish and turtles will rise to the surface, reclaiming their place at the top. Sometimes, we all need a visual reminder of God's grace and power—an illustrated sermon that touches the heart. Today, I want to share a picture I took outside of a deer standing in the snow that brought this to mind, recalling the large white sash that surrounded the large tree, declaring we are white as snow when the blood of Jesus covers us.

He loves me with a love that reflects the way Jesus intended for a husband to love his wife.

As I look back on the meaningful moments of ministry, my heart is just bursting with thankfulness. It's such a wonderful gift to share the journey of faith alongside this amazing man.

During one service, I noticed a young woman I'd never seen before. She sat quietly towards the back, and I could see the weight of pain and despair on her face. I began teaching from Ephesians 5, and isn't it incredible how God orchestrated everything, ensuring she was there that night to hear exactly what she needed.
