‼️ URGENT: The Wolves of Seacrest Need Your Help ‼️

You’d think wolves would be safe inside a sanctuary — a place built to protect and help them. But today, the wolves and small animals of Seacrest face the same danger as those struggling to survive in the wild. The very humans who were meant to be their neighbors have now become their greatest threat.

Our landlord has decided to attempt to evict the animals from the only home they’ve known for over 20 years. This sanctuary has stood strong through a Category 5 hurricane, the shutdowns of COVID, and relentless persecution against wolves — our precious keystone carnivores. Yet now, their lives hang in the balance because of one devastating decision.

We are fighting back with everything we have. We’re pursuing every legal avenue to stop this, but if the eviction goes through, our animals will lose their home — and many could lose their lives.

Please, we need your voices. We need your support.
Help us protect these innocent lives before it’s too late.

After 5 years of closure, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is considering reopening Apalachicola Bay's oyster fishery. Every morning when I go out to feed, I start by saying “Good morning” over & over really loud! Now I add Merry Christmas! The guineas come first and then the chickens. (There is a pecking order!) But they all run to me like they’ve never seen me before. (If you’ve watched our YouTube channel you have seen this!!!)

When I’m dipping their food & fixing their water, & gathering eggs….I tell them all how blessed they are that they woke up. (You see. Predators are everywhere at night-although mine are protected- you just never know!) I tell them how blessed they are to have a warm cozy coop & food to eat.

I use those words from the movie, “The Help!” You know. I say them all the time. “You is smart. You is kind. You is important.” I also tell them not to be judgmental and critical. I tell them to get along with everyone although they may not agree. They like clicks too!(you know- they pick their favorite friends.)

Then when I’m going back in the house, I always tell them that this is the day that the Lord hath made. I tell them to be happy and kind. I tell them to make good choices to stay inside the fence so they will be protected and to run if they see a hawk or a fox, or a raccoon or a possum. I even say “Run Forest Run!”

Now you may be here reading this and thinking she is a crazy chicken lady. (You evidently haven’t owned chickens) And to be honest, I am the “Crazy Chicken Lady.” And that’s ok. Believe me. I’ve been called worse. I love my chickens & guineas.

But what if we all could take this same advice for our everyday walk. What if we all woke up starting with a thank you & a smile & run & hug like it’s the first time we have ever saw each other? What if we could just share & be nice? What if we could do unto others like we would want to be treated? I mean if we don’t have anything good to say, just take every opportunity to be quiet. Right??

I mean. Seriously. It’s a good day to have a good day! We woke up! Just saying. Something to ponder here.

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
