City Chapel

City Chapel A church of the gospel for the city of Grand Rapids. www.citychapel.org/values That next month we packed everything we had and moved to Grand Rapids.

One night over dinner, a friend of ours said, “if you feel called to Grand Rapids, why don’t you live there?” It was simple and obvious encouragement, but it gave us permission to make the move. Soon, meeting after meeting made it more apparent to us. As God does, He cleared a path to show us that our time to church plant in the city that we love is now. Today, 1 year later we find ourselves starting the groundwork necessary to form a congregation in the heart of Grand Rapids.

Tomorrow is our next women’s hang — and it’s a secondhand swap! Think of it like a pop-up thrift store, where everything is free. Bring gently loved items, set them out, and shop from what others bring. From clothing to home goods, there’s something for everyone. We’ll have some light apps and drinks to snack on while you shop!

When: Tomorrow, April 16 | 6:30 pm
Where: Calvin Church Fellowship Hall

Swipe to see a list of categories of items to bring, and let us know if you’re coming so we can estimate food counts. We hope to see you there!

With broken hearts and unwavering resolve, the Commission on Race and Ethnicity (CORE), together with the four racial and ethnic councils of the Reformed Church in America and the general secretary, offers this pastoral letter of lament and support on behalf of immigrant and refugee families across the United States who have been devastated by recent immigration raids carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

We stand in holy grief alongside our siblings, mothers, fathers, children, and elders, whose lives have been disrupted, traumatized, and torn apart by policies and actions that fail to honor the dignity and image of God in every person. These realities call for both moral clarity and compassionate action from the church.

Hors d’oeuvres and fun beverages will be provided. We’ll be meeting at Paloma Gyles’ house at 7 pm - DM us if you need the address or have any questions! We can’t wait to see you there!
