Seventh Reformed Church is committed to the whole revealed counsel of God in Scripture, seeking and proclaiming his glory through the embracing and spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ. Independent of the Reformed Church in America since the mid 1990s, the church's subordinate standards remain the Three Forms of Unity (the Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, and Decrees of the Synod of

The church's influence in Grand Rapids and western Michigan has arisen from its adherence to biblical orthodoxy, as communicated twice weekly via radio (WFUR 92.9 FM [Sundays 11 a.m. Notable among the senior ministers of the latter twentieth century were Rev. Gordon Girod (1957–1979), Dr. Charles Krahe (1980–1990), Dr. John R. de Witt (1993–2000), and the early twenty-first century Dr. Tim J.R. The current senior minister is Rev. Paul van Engelenhoven (2020–). The church was the first to endow a chair at Westminster Theological Seminary, PA, (The Charles Krahe Chair of Biblical and Systematic Theology) and is a member of the World Reformed Fellowship.
