Join us for the Divine Liturgy for the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul!

On June 29, Holy Cross Orthodox Church will celebrate the Divine Liturgy for Saints Peter and Paul, the two great Apostles whose lives and witness helped establish and spread the Church throughout the world.

Though very different in background and personality, Peter and Paul were united in their love for Christ and their faithful proclamation of the Gospel. This liturgy reminds us that holiness is found not in perfection, but in repentance, faith, and steadfast devotion to our Lord.

We invite all to join us as we honor these pillars of the Church and pray for their intercessions.

“O leaders of the Apostles and teachers of the world, intercede with the Master of all to grant peace to the world and great mercy to our souls.”

Pentecost Joy at Holy Cross ☦️

Glory to God in all things!

On the great Feast of Pentecost, our parish was blessed to receive many new catechumens as they took their first formal steps toward entering the Holy Orthodox Church. We rejoice in the work of the Holy Spirit, Who continues to call souls into His Church.

Please keep our catechumens in your prayers as they begin this sacred journey. Pray that the Lord grants them strength, perseverance, wisdom, and a deep love for Christ and His Holy Church.

As Fr. Seraphim Rose said, “America will be Orthodox, or it will not be at all.” We are grateful to witness God drawing more people to the Orthodox faith and look forward to supporting these catechumens on their path to Christ.

Many years to our catechumens, and glory to God for all things! ☦️

Today after Liturgy we celebrated Kneeling Vespers, the beautiful service of Pentecost in the Eastern Orthodox Church. After standing throughout the Paschal season in joy of the Resurrection, the faithful kneel once again as special prayers were offered for mercy, renewal, the departed, and the coming of the Holy Spirit upon us all.

In the Gospel, Christ promises: “He who believes in Me, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38). At Pentecost, this promise is fulfilled as the Holy Spirit descends upon the Apostles, giving life to the Church and strength to proclaim the Gospel to the world.

Kneeling Vespers reminds us that the Holy Spirit is still active today comforting, healing, guiding, and sanctifying those who seek Christ. 💚

Next Sunday, the Holy Orthodox Church will celebrate the Great Feast of Pentecost! The fulfillment of Christ’s promise and the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles in the form of tongues of fire. Pentecost is the revelation of the Holy Trinity to the world and the birth of the Church through the grace of the Holy Spirit.

In the Gospel reading for the feast, our Lord will proclaim:
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me… out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37-52; 8:12)

The Gospel tells us that Christ spoke concerning the Holy Spirit, whom the faithful would receive after His glorification. On Pentecost, this promise will be fulfilled as the Holy Spirit descends upon the Apostles, granting them wisdom, boldness, and the power to preach the Gospel to all nations.

Following the Divine Liturgy, we will serve the beautiful service of Kneeling Vespers. Kneeling Vespers the first kneeling prayers offered in the Church since Holy Pascha. During these prayers, we will ask the Holy Spirit to come and dwell within us, to renew our hearts, strengthen the faithful, grant peace to the world, and mercy to the departed.

Pentecost is not simply a remembrance of something that happened long ago, but the living reality of the Holy Spirit abiding in the Orthodox Church today.

Come, taste and see that the Lord is good! 💚

Join us on Saturday, May 30th at 10 AM for a special Spanish Language Divine Liturgy at Holy Cross Antiochian Orthodox Church!

This service will be celebrated completely in Spanish and is a beautiful opportunity for both Spanish speakers and non-Spanish speakers alike to come together in worship and fellowship. “…we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” — Acts 2:11

Tonight we say farewell to the radiant days of Pascha, the leave-taking of the Feast of Feasts. For forty days the Church has proclaimed with joy: “Christ is Risen!” Yet even as the hymns grow quiet, the truth of the Resurrection does not fade.

Christ is still risen.
The tomb is still empty.
Death is still trampled down by death.

Pascha has not ended, rather it becomes part of us.

As we prepare to celebrate The feast of Ascension tonight, and await Pentecost, may we remember that our time on earth is short and precious. As world grows darker and things become more uncertain, Christ continues to call us to repentance, prayer, mercy, and watchfulness. The time is later than we think.

As Father Seraphim Rose said:

“It’s later than you think. Hasten, therefore, to do the work of God.”

May we never stop living the joy of Pascha, carrying the light of the Resurrection into a weary world.

Christ is Risen!

Next week Wednesday, we celebrate the glorious Feast of the Ascension, we remember Christ’s final words to His disciples before ascending into heaven:

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)

Forty days after His Resurrection, Christ ascended in glory to the Father, opening the way for humanity to enter heaven and promising the coming of the Holy Spirit.

Join us for Divine Liturgy as we celebrate this joyful feast of our Lord’s Ascension!

🤍☦️ This Sunday is the Sunday of the Blind Man! The 6th Sunday of Pascha, the final Sunday before the Feast of the Ascension. ☦️🤍

In the Gospel reading (John 9:1–38), we hear the powerful account of Christ healing the man who was born blind. More than a physical healing, this miracle reveals Christ as the Light of the World, opening not only the man’s eyes, but also the eyes of his heart. While others argue and question, the healed man grows in bold faith, ultimately confessing Christ and worshiping Him.

As we near the end of the Paschal season, this Sunday stands at a threshold. We are still living in the joy of the Resurrection, but we are also being led upward toward Christ’s Ascension, when He returns to the Father and prepares the way for our own healing and transformation.

Come and join us this Sunday as we hear this Gospel proclaimed and continue to walk in the light of the Resurrection together.

🤍Liturgy starts at 10AM!🤍
