The Grand Rapids Zine Fest (GRZF) celebrated its 12th year on Saturday, August 8, at Fountain Street Church!

GRZF celebrates zines, self published magazines that can be about anything and everything: comics, illustration, photography, poetry, fiction, social justice, recipes, fandoms…the list goes on!

People make and share zines to express themselves, share their art and beliefs, explore interesting ideas, or simply share what they love. The creativity at GRZF is always inspiring. In addition to zines, exhibitors sell stickers, buttons, prints, and more, and many zinesters (zine makers) are open to trading zines, too.

This year was a huge success, with a record 700+ attendees and a record number of exhibitors!

GRZF is a space where people can be themselves and feel celebrated for who they are. The festival has been held at FSC for the past several years, and attendees always comment on how welcoming and beautiful the space is.

Thank you, Grand Rapids Zine Fest, for filling Fountain Street with so much creativity and community! 💛

🎶 Join Fountain Street Church in just four days for “Then & Now: A Solo Piano Recital,” featuring Macedonian concert pianist and composer Dr. Natasha Stojanovska . The program includes works by Jean-Philippe Rameau, Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Bojana Petrovic Aleksova, Vlastimir Nikolovski, Stojanovska, Carmen Helena Téllez, and Colin Payne.

“Ms. Stojanovska is both a virtuoso pianist, a compelling composer, and an expert proponent of a specific area of the repertoire. We do not see this combination of skills in a single person any longer, since the days of the iconic Russian émigré Sergei Rachmaninoff.” — Carmen-Helena Téllez, internationally renowned choral conductor.

Enjoy this short clip of her performing Chopin’s Étude Op. 10, No. 5.
