A congregation in the middle of Downtown Grand Rapids, MI worshipping at 8:40am, 11:00am, and 6:00pm every Sunday.

LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church exists to promote God's Kingdom by worshiping God in response to his Word, equipping God’s people for service, and witnessing to God’s world in word and deed that Jesus Christ is Lord of all.

This Sunday at our 10:00 am morning service we welcome Pastor Shawn England to our pulpit. Shawn is a commissioned pastor at Celebration Fellowship CRC and a regular LaGrave attender. He will preach on Hebrews 10:26-31 with the message “In the Hands of the Living God.”

Sunday evening at our 6:00 pm service LaGrave member, Rev. Laurie TenHave-Chapman, will preach from Acts 8:26-40, a passage that reminds us that there are many who are looking for Jesus as the answer to their deepest questions. We will also celebrate the Lord’s Supper together.

This Sunday at our 10:00am morning service, we will continue our summer sermon series. Our sermon series is called The Way of Wisdom. We will look at the parts of the Bible that are considered Wisdom Literature. These are Bible books and Bible passages that address the practicalities of living in God's world. Pastor Jonker will continue the series with a sermon on Proverbs 3: 1-20.

This Sunday at out 10:00 am service we will start our summer sermon series. This summer our sermons will all be drawn from the parts of the Bible that are considered Wisdom Literature. These are Bible books and Bible passages that address the practicalities of living in God's world. Pastor Jonker will begin the series with a sermon on Proverbs 1:1-7 where the teacher of Proverbs shares with us the place where wisdom starts.

Sunday Evening at our 6:00 pm service Pastor Jonker will preach on Acts 17:16-34.

May 24 is Pentecost Sunday! Pastor Jonker will preach on Ephesians 4: 17-31. We begin our summer schedule with a single morning service at 10:00 AM. There will be overflow parking available in the Trinity Health lot. Please enter at their entrance on La Grave Avenue.

Please note that due to the holiday weekend there will be no evening service held in the sanctuary but you are invited to join a vespers service in the parlor. This service will not be livestreamed.

May 17 is our last Sunday with two morning services. For the rest of the summer there will be one morning service at 10am.

At our 8:40 and 11:00 services we will celebrate communion so Pastor Jonker will preach on John 2:1-12, the story of the wedding feast at Cana.

Sunday evening at our 6:00 pm service Pastor Jonker will preach on John 21:15-19.

This Sunday, at our 8:40 and 11:00 am services, Rev. Kristy Manion will preach on Genesis 11 and we will celebrate baptisms at the 11:00 service.

Sunday evening at our 6:00 pm service Chad Boorsma will preach as we will conclude the Easter season by looking at Luke 24:36-49, a passage where doubt is whittled away as our eyes are opened to the Word.

LaGrave celebrated our graduating high school seniors during the evening worship service followed by an all church dinner and the annual paper airplane throwing contest. Congrats to all of our grads! We pray God’s blessings on you all.

100 LaGrave women of all ages enjoyed a beautiful Saturday making flower porch pots. Special thanks to for hosting us and the Loek’s Fund for creating so much beauty, care, joy and fun!

This Sunday at our 8:40 and 11:00 am services we will witness the installation of our new Elders and Deacons. Reverend Jonker will preach on Acts 11:19-30, a passage where, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we see the church beginning to take form.

Sunday evening our worship service begins at 5:30 pm. It is Graduate Night so there will be a part of the service where we honor our 12th grade graduates. Rachel Thorne will give the message and this will fulfill requirements for her Master of Divinity studies at Fuller Theological Seminary.

The congregation had the opportunity to hear an update from representatives from Zuni Christian Mission School Sunday evening. The school, in Zuni, New Mexico, desires for its students to be planted in Biblical truth and surrounded by God's grace. Thank you for the updates!
