As the season of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids draws to a close, we thank you, God, for the seeds of love and Gospel that have been sown in and through this church – in times of joy and sorrow, in times when we were faithful and times when we weren’t – for over 70 years.
For decades of worship, baptism, celebrations of the Lord’s Supper, weddings and the chance to bear witness to the resurrection, we thank you God.
For the friendships made and community partnerships nurtured, we thank you, God.
For pastors, elders, deacons, Sunday school teachers, musicians, men and women working in the kitchen, Stephen Ministers, Presbyterian Women’s circles, Eastminster Foundation Trust leaders, the Green Team and all the ordinary saints whose faithfulness is woven into the life of Eastminster and the Eastgate community, we thank you God.
For the Gospel proclaimed – in word, in mission, in sharing of resources, in the care we’ve shown each other and the least of these, we thank you, God.
For opportunities missed, relationships marred, things left undone and mistakes made intentionally and unintentionally, Lord have mercy.
For those grieving the loss of loved ones and the loss of this place of worship, Lord have mercy.
As we leave Eastminster’s building and grounds in the hands of the Presbytery of Lake Michigan and in God’s hands, we thank you, God.
For your promise to keep sowing seeds in the world, through us, in us and with us, we thank you God.
