Westminster Presbyterian Church

Westminster Presbyterian Church Westminster seeks to be a Christian community. To us, being Christian means that we welcome everyone. At Westminster, you and absolutely everyone are welcome.

We may look traditional, but we strive for a living faith that draws on the best of our 150 year tradition and the best of life as we know it now. We believe in justice as love, in honoring all voices and all people, and in stewarding our resources to help our neighbors in our downtown neighborhood and our broader West Michigan community. We're not afraid of the questions, the doubts, the difficul

ties; and even as we're physically apart, we continue to build our beloved community through worship, digital gathering, and conversation.

In addition, we are accepting donations of fabric or cloth reusable bags as we give these out to neighbors who can regularly use them. These can be dropped off near the front desk in the gathering place. Thank you for your ongoing support!

The Open Door Ministry is seeking donations of gently used Bibles. We have been regularly giving out Bibles to people who request them at Open Door and having a variety of sizes of Bible would help us respond to those requests. Donations can be left at the donation box near the front desk. Thank you for your ongoing support of this ministry!

Westminster will be hosting a booth at this years Pride Festival: Together We Glow, on Satuday, June 20. We are looking for volunteers to help with set up, takedown, and representing WPC at the booth during the festival. Join us for a workshop on Urban Sketching next week! We will be meeting Thursday, June 4 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Westminster to learn the basics. On Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. we will travel offsite to put the skills to practice. Led by Arya Jadhav.

Ever looked at a hallway, building, coffee mug, church corner, or random little moment and thought, that would make a neat sketch? That’s basically urban sketching.

Come join Arya Jadhav for a relaxed intro session where we’ll talk about what urban sketching actually is, how to simplify what you see, and how to start capturing spaces and everyday moments without overthinking it. We’ll go over some basic techniques, materials, and ways to approach sketching from observation — all indoors and beginner friendly.

No art experience needed whatsoever. Seriously. Wobbly lines are part of the charm. This is about capturing the vibe, creating memories, and learning to notice the beauty in ordinary spaces — not making hyper-realistic masterpieces.

Bring whatever supplies you already have lying around. Fancy materials are optional. Tiny existential crisis over perspective lines is included free of charge.

Suggested Supplies
• Sketchbook or notebook
• Pen or pencil
• Eraser
• Optional: colored pencils, markers, watercolor set, or brush pens
