Today, on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we are reminded of a love that never grows weary, never turns away, and never ceases to seek us.

In this Faith Focus Friday reflection, we share the words of Pope Francis, who reminds us that the Heart of Jesus is "the ultimate symbol of God's mercy" and the source from which salvation flows for all humanity.

When life feels uncertain, burdens seem heavy, or peace feels distant, the Sacred Heart invites us to rest in the love of Christ. His Heart remains open to every wound, every prayer, and every hope we carry.

May we find comfort in knowing that we are deeply loved, endlessly forgiven, and gently called to become instruments of that same mercy and peace in the world.

This Testament Tuesday, we hear from Jeanine of St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Kentwood as she reflects on how the Holy Spirit has guided her life and ministry through the Catholic Information Center’s Leadership Formation Institute.

In her witness, Jeanine reminds us that discipleship is more than words or good intentions. The Gospel calls us to listen to the movement of the Holy Spirit and then respond with action. Love is not passive. Love serves. Love accompanies. Love steps forward to care for others.

As the Church continues to seek meaningful ways to reach others, especially the traditionally marginalized, the Leadership Formation Institute is helping form missionary disciples who are willing to listen deeply, trust the Spirit’s direction, and put their faith into action. Through prayer, service, and authentic accompaniment, participants are discovering that true love is revealed not simply in what we say, but in how we live.

“If I have no action behind my love… it’s not really love.”

In this week’s Faith Focus Friday video, Fr. Mike Cruickshank, CSP, joins us again from the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, where he reflects on what it truly means to accompany others with the love of Christ.

In a world that can be quick to judge, Fr. Mike reminds us that the Gospel calls us to something deeper: to walk alongside others, to meet people where they are, and to invite them into a greater understanding of God’s love with compassion, patience, and humility.

Jesus Himself encountered people with mercy before judgment, always leading with love, hope, and relationship. As missionary disciples, we are called to do the same — accompanying others on their journey of faith and trusting that God is already at work in their lives.

Watch this week’s message and reflect on how Christ may be calling you to walk beside someone with greater compassion and understanding.

This Testament Tuesday, Doris, from Cathedral of Saint Andrew, reflects on how the Church can better connect with young people through authentic witness, freedom, and love.

As part of the Leadership Formation Institute at the Catholic Information Center, participants are being formed as missionary disciples — learning not only how to share the Gospel, but how to accompany others with compassion, joy, and understanding.

In today’s world, many young people are searching for meaning, belonging, and hope. Doris reminds us that evangelization begins by meeting youth where they are and showing them that a life with God is not restrictive, but freeing. Christ calls young people into fullness of life, purpose, and love.

To be a missionary disciple to youth populations means walking alongside them, listening to their experiences, and witnessing to the joy of the Gospel through authentic relationship. When young people encounter the love of Christ through others, hearts can be transformed.

“God isn't boring at all.” He meets us in love.

In this week’s Faith Focus Friday, Mark Mann, Director of Programs & Institutes at the Catholic Information Center, reflects on a truth at the heart of the Gospel: we are not meant to walk the Christian life alone.

As part of the Leadership Formation Institute’s “Together In Christ” deep dive series, Mark reminds us that discipleship is lived in communion — through prayer, worship, service, and authentic relationships rooted in Christ. From the sacraments to everyday encounters, our faith is meant to be shared within the Body of Christ.

Where two or three are gathered in His name, Christ is present. In a world marked by isolation and division, the Church continues to call us back into community, reminding us that we belong to one another.

Watch this meaningful reflection and consider how God may be inviting you to deepen your own life of faith through community.

This Testament Tuesday, we hear from Frank, of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish in Grand Haven, a participant in the Catholic Information Center’s Leadership Formation Institute, as he reflects on what it means to be a missionary disciple in today’s world.

In a time when many feel disconnected from the Church, Frank reminds us that evangelization often begins not with grand gestures, but with trust, witness, and accompaniment. As missionary disciples, we are called to meet people where they are, break down barriers with compassion, and lead by example through the way we live, serve, and love others.

The Gospel spreads one relationship at a time, one conversation at a time, and one faithful step at a time. Through the Leadership Formation Institute, participants are being formed to answer Christ’s call to go forth as missionary disciples who bring hope, understanding, and the love of God into their communities.

“Lead by example… one day, one step at a time.”
