This Thursday Thought takes a final look at John C. Nugent's "Priestly Presence: A Church for the World's Sake" and considers how our lives can embody a priestly witness and praise that makes the world around us stop and take notice that we live differently because of Jesus.

In chapters five and six of Priestly Presence, John Nugent gives us a bunch of practical ways we can witness to the world through our risky hospitality and our stewardship of the sacred. This week's Thursday Thought just touches briefly on what those things are, and thinks about engaging both of them through the way we eat.

I'm really trying to get back to Thursday Thoughts being shorter like they were initially intended to be. Hopefully that doesn't just come across as me rushing through this one. It's a new book (but same author) as I dive into the newly-published "Priestly Presence: A Church for the World's Sake" by John C. Nugent and explore the practical ways we can engage the world around us as God's priestly kingdom.

Apparently the new trend in Thursday Thoughts is me failing to hit the button to stop recording. But you'll have to watch through the longest-ever Thursday Thought to see that! It's worth it, though, to come to the conclusion of John Nugent's "The Fourfold Office of Christ" and consider the hope he offers with his Revised Priestly Model of interacting with the world.
