The world is more Christian today than it has ever been in history.

According to Pew Research Center, the number of Christians globally grew from 2.1 billion in 2010 to roughly 2.6 billion today.

The Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary states that Christianity is currently growing faster than the world’s population itself.

Here’s what makes that even more remarkable: nearly a century ago, 95% of the world’s Christians lived in predominantly Christian countries.

That is no longer the case. Africa alone went from fewer than 10 million Christians at the start of the 20th century to over 734 million today.

Around one third of the entire world’s population now identifies as Christian.
