This summer, our members gathered at Linh Quang Temple in Lincoln, Nebraska for Lộc Uyển and A Dục: a foundational leadership and youth leader training camp. 🏕️

Through four days of learning, reflection, teamwork, discipline, and fellowship, our participants took meaningful steps toward becoming leaders who can guide, serve, and inspire the next generation of Buddhist youth.💫

We are grateful to Linh Quang Temple for hosting and providing a safe space to cultivate learning and friendship. May the wisdom, connections, and memories from this camp continue to grow with each attendee as they begin their journey as Huynh Trưởng.💚

“A family that plays together stays together”

With how busy life gets in addition to the many activities throughout the year, rarely do we get the chance to get away and bond. We had an opportunity to do a spiritual retreat in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Joined by Thày Thiện Hiền and Master Karma La, our Sangha guided us in meditation and discussion. Fun was had with pickleball tournaments, competitive team games, hiking, and lake activities. A good reset before the start of a new cycle year for our GDPT, we are reenergized and ready to serve the youth with vigor!

Kenley Nguyen came to GĐPT Pháp Quang (Grand Prairie, TX) in July 2025 of last year. As a member of GĐPT Huyền Quang (Houston, TX), he wanted to continue his Buddhist roots in a new city and found his way to Pháp Quang . With light in his eyes, Kenley walked through the door of our temple with stride, ready to make an impact on our organization and its members. He immediately jumped into any role he could volunteer for, whether it be assisting with camp, being a lead in an upcoming dance, or facing his fears with lion dancing on jongs.

Kenley’s sincerity, courage, and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He embodied the spirit of ambition, encouraging others, and stepping forward with a heart dedicated to supporting friends and contributing to our community.

We are deeply grateful for the experiences we shared: the laughter, the conversations, and the hope he brought to those around him. Kenley’s presence will continue to live on in our hearts. May we honor his memory by continuing to encourage one another and live with the same abundance of compassion he held for others.

Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with Kenley’s family, loved ones, and all who were touched by his life. 🕊️

VESAK celebrates the day the world welcomed a prince, named Siddhartha, who later relinquished his royalty and status to find the path to end suffering. In reaching enlightenment, he became Buddha Shakyamuni and spent over 40 years to share the Truth and Knowledge with others so that they, too, can be free from sufferings. 🪷
We honor our Teacher with flowers as a physical reminder to practice mindfulness, humility, and gratitude within our own lives. 🙏✨

Happy throwback to 2 months ago when we hosted Ngày Dũng and welcomed our brothers from Oklahoma, GDPT Viên Minh, to join us for an unforgettable weekend. 🏕️💪
Our Thiếu Nam spent the weekend strengthening their bonds through camping, teamwork, and shared experiences. Through every challenge and activity, they were pushed to grow in strength, diligence, and wisdom while building friendships that will last for years to come.

Thank you to GÐPT Viên Minh for making the journey and creating lasting memories alongside us. 💙

It’s tradition now! Vesak Day is this month… and we are once again initiating PQ’s Meatless Mondays! 🥗✨
Our members will make the effort to eat vegetarian every Monday for a whole month & POST their journey on the media by using the hashtag & tagging our account on IG or FB!

There’s always an incentive… each post will give an additional raffle ticket to enter into a drawing for prizes! Even though the raffle is only for our youth members... we encourage everyone to participate!

Members who do not have a phone or social media account can have their parents post or text their youth leaders a picture of their meal!📲
