Knight of the Year Award for 2025-26: Bud Lawson

This Brother Knight has served our council and parish in many ways for a long time. In fact, at many of our meetings we often joke about how many different hats he wears. He volunteers at many of our council events, he is our council membership director, he is a Worthy Past Grand Knight, and he is our financial secretary and has been for many years. He works hard to prepare our yearly budget, welcomes everyone at our Fish Fries, and handles swarms of people coming in the door at our Wild Game Dinners. He is often a reader at Mass and works to help prepare OCIA candidates for our parish. He has been a great resource that I have leaned on as Grand Knight answering many questions and providing guidance on activities. Congratulations to Bud Lawson as Knight of the Year.

Family of the Year Award for 2025-26: Dan & Amy Korte & family

Every member of this family is involved in serving the Parish, the school, and our Council in their own way. Our Brother Knight is an active member and is one of three Brother Knights who helped organize and run our very first session of Cor this spring. This family volunteers at many our council events including Fish Fries and Wild Game Dinners. This family serves our parish holding or having held positions on multiple parish councils, serving as a sacristan for our weekday masses, altar serving, singing in the children’s choir, and even working with our director of maintenance. This family has also been involved in the Parish school, PTO, and FunFest. I am sure I am leaving out many more ways that this family is involved in our Parish. Thank you for all that you do and congratulations to our Family of the Year Dan, Amy, Finn, Elsa, Maren, and Nina Korte!

Stan Baker Award for 2025-26: Father James Eisele

The Stan Baker Award is ultimately, within our council, a lifetime achievement award. This year I am pleased to honor a Brother Knight who has supported our Knight of Columbus council for many years. He is the leader of our Parish, our School and promoted our Knights of Columbus council and events. He has also served as Chaplain of our council for many years supporting officer installations, council exemplifications, and hosting our annual picnic. Congratulations to this year’s Stan Baker Award winner, Father James Eisele!
