Our hope usually has reasonable limits. We hope we get the job we applied for. We hope the rain holds off until after our picnic. We hope surgery is successful ... But when we put our hope in God, God is able to far exceed anything we could dream. God parted the Red Sea for the Israelites so they could escape Egyptian slavery. God sent his son, Jesus, as a tiny infant who died on the cross for us and then ROSE from the dead!! Who could have possibly known to hope for that?! In Genesis 18:1-15, God has promised that Abraham, age 100, and Sarah, 90, would have as many descendants as stars in the sky. But they remained childless into old age--until God fulfilled his promise. Sarah DID give birth to a son, and she DID laugh at the sheer impossibility of God's grace. Join us for worship Sunday at 11 to consider God's many impossible blessings in our lives. We'd love to welcome you!

How would you respond if God came to you and told you to leave where you have lived for generations and hit the road with your entire household, camping on the way, but with no clear destination? Would you go? Would you trust God to guide you? This is exactly the challenge Abram faced in Genesis 12:1-9, as a prelude to God's promise to deliver Abram to the Promised Land. God needed a faithful and trustworthy partner--and God still does. Is this YOU? In Abram's case, and maybe in ours too, the journey is just as important as the destination. Where does God want us to go--and how does God want us to get there? Join us for worship on Sunday at 11 as we check our surroundings and see how our faith journey is going--as a church and as individuals. In faith, God calls ALL of us, in God's time.

We normally think of Mary's song (called "The Magnificat, from Luke 1:39-57) during Advent or Christmas. But Sunday is Trinity Sunday and we're going to take a closer look at this beautiful poem in the context of how God is present as Creator, Son and Holy Spirit in our world and in our personal lives. We're going to consider Mary's faithful attitude toward her unique call to carry and deliver Jesus and find inspiration to practice our faith like she did.

Also, please JOIN US for our SPAGHETTI SUPPER on WEDNESDAY, JULY 3 from 5-6:30 at the church. Keep the next dinners on your calendar as well: Wednesday, July 1 and Wednesday August 12

Sunday is Pentecost, commonly viewed as the "birthday" of the church, when the Holy Spirit descended in the form of tongues of fire that rested, without burning, on each believer (Acts 2:1-21). The word "pentecost" in Greek means "50 days," as Pentecost falls 50 days after Easter. The original Pentecost happened during the Jewish festival called Shavuot, where Jews commemorate Moses receiving the Ten Commandments. In both Shavuot and Pentecost, we celebrate God's presence as our foundation of faith. We would love to welcome you to our church birthday celebration. We can't promise tongues of flame, but we can be confident that the Holy Spirit is present among us. Please join us for worship on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. You are more than welcome here!
