Today’s Bible Lesson and Sermon encourages us to think of ourselves as God’s beloved child, made in His image and likeness. “Awake, awake; ...Shake thyself from the dust;”
Know that we are not flesh and blood, as Adam, “for as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
See Genesis 1:26-28, 31. We are not Adam and Fallen Man as the title of the Lesson suggests, but we are “unfallen, upright, pure, and free.”

Provision, supply, riches, abundance are all spiritual qualities of God when we think of Him as Soul. This is one of the seven names given to God by Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science. Knowing God as Soul gives us many avenues with which to pray to Him. Here we find bounty, wisdom, benefits, and dominion. MBE says on page 5 of Science and Health "Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind, and happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul." Philippians 4:19 assures us "God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." All blessing to you!!!

Do we want to know and understand God better and better? Developing our spiritual sense is necessary to "show the superiority of faith by works over faith in words". That is what Mary Baker Eddy explains in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. We will learn that we are the spiritual idea of God, beloved and cared for and perfect in His eyes. Romans 8:16 says "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God."

As we all look at the upcoming new year, it is exciting to contemplate this week's Bible Lesson subject: God! What a great way to begin 2017 with getting to know and understand God's love and care for each of us. This never changes, no matter what year or day or hour it is! Isaiah 41:10 says "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

Red dragons, biting adders, roaring lions and wolves in sheep's clothing! These evils are all mentioned in the Bible and explained spiritually by Mary Baker Eddy as having no reality. "Good is divinely natural. Evil is unnatural; it has no origin in the nature of God, and He is the Father of all." (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, page 288). All is infinite God and His idea, man, meaning each one of us made in His image and likeness. Jesus instructed us to cast out evils of every sort! This week's Bible Lesson illustrates how to do just that!!!

This summer, the weekly Bible Lessons explore six synonyms for God, such as Life, Truth, Love, Spirit, Soul, and Mind. There are Bible citations and explanations from Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health textbook in each lesson.
This week's lesson is titled Soul. Have you ever thought about our five material senses as purely spiritual? They are God-given gifts and are indestructible! Think about Jesus' healings and how the blind saw and the deaf heard. Glorify our Father through our spiritual senses!!!!

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes " In the year 1866, I discovered the Christ Science or divine laws of Life, Truth, and Love, and named my discovery Christian Science. ". You will find that quote on page 107 in her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Today's Bible Lesson/Sermon explains more on the subject of Christian Science. The same lesson is read at each church around the world, blessing all!

Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, chose 26 subjects to be the Bible Lesson each week. This week marks the last of the first rotation titled Christian Science. It explains the promise made by God and manifested in Christ Jesus the "new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness." This includes knowing ourselves as God's beloved children and the heirs of Christ. ChristianScience.com will help you understand these truths and put them into daily practice.

The heart of Christian Science is Love. Christian Science is about feeling and understanding God's goodness. Christian Science is based on the Bible and is explained in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy.

This week's Bible Lesson teaches us more about our oneness with God, the Father-Mother of us all. The Doctrine of Atonement is more easily understood when we see the word atonement as "at-one-ment". We see ourselves as the children of God. "For in Him we live, and move, and have our being." Each of us is one with Spirit, Love, Truth, Life, and all the qualities of our dear God.

The Christian Science Bible Lesson for Easter was titled Reality. It speaks beautifully of Christ Jesus and how he prepared for his life of ministry. He always saw the reality of God's creation, not in matter but in spirit. The lesson explains how we can uplift our view of perfect God and perfect man. Jesus was the best example of keeping thought on this truth. He rose above all seeming evil and proved eternal life for all of us. We can carry this Easter message with us every day of our lives. Eternal life is the reality!
