If you ask us, this is the best fireworks show in West Michigan. But then again, maybe we're a little bit biased.

It may have rained a little on this parade, but it didn't stop hundreds of thousands of people lining the streets to celebrate the U.S. Coast Guard at the 2026 Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival!

Amongst the honored guests were the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard, Auxiliary National Commodore Mary Kirkwood, CG Aux Great Lakes- Western Region DCO, and our very own AUX PA1 Matt Thompson - the Auxiliarist of the Year!

Amidst honoring the U.S. Coast Guard at the 2026 Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival, we also had the opportunity to celebrate some individual successes.

Thank you Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard for taking the time to speak with everyone and celebrate our accomplishments together!

Last night, AUX 44359 was underway to help and enforce the safety zone around the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival drone show. They also completed some training maneuvers to help keep their skills sharp.

This vessel is in it's 60th year of service to the United States. Delivered to the U.S. Coast Guard in 1966, this Motor Life Boat served until 1994. After being decommissioned, it was purchased by a group of Auxiliarists, restored, and continues to serve today!

Yesterday was Kid's Day at the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival!

Families attending Kid's Day had the opportunity to learn about Coast Guard missions and play fun games! They also had the opportunity to see equipment that the Coast Guard uses every day and even learn about basic water safety, how to throw a heaving line, and how put on a life jacket! The Drill Team even put on a show for attendees!
