Invocation
Call to Worship from Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Pastor: Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
Congregation: Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart.
Pastor: Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise.
Congregation: Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem on your forehead,
All: and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

· Hymn #302 “Take My Life and Let It Be” vs 1, 2, 3
Prayer of Confession
O how we must grieve you, God. You give us blessings to share with others, but we hoard everything for ourselves. You look for us to join you in serving the most vulnerable, but find us worshiping the wealthy and powerful and serving our own interests. You offer us joy and wonder to embrace, but we continue to cling to warlike ways and selfish desires. Have mercy on us, Lord, as you pour your forgiveness into our foolish lives. Plant the seeds of grace, hope, love, and peace in us, so we may blossom and share all these gifts with everyone we meet. We pray this in the name of Jesus our savior. Amen.

All: Remember the wonderful works He has done
· Hymn #241 “I Sing the Mighty Power of God”
Prayer of Confession
Dear Heavenly Father, we lower our heads before you in prayer. We confess that we have too often forgotten that we are yours; created in your image. Sometimes we carry on in our lives unmindful of you and so we fall short of being a credible witness to you. For these things we ask your forgiveness and we also ask for your strength. Give us clear minds and open hearts so we may witness to you in our world as we respond to The Great Commission. Remind us to be who you would have us to be regardless of what we are doing or who we are with. Hold us to you and build our relationship with you and with those you have given us on earth. Amen

Call to Worship
Pastor: We’ve come to worship God,

Pastor: And whose love never ceases.
Congregation: We’ve come to worship the Spirit of the Living God,
Pastor: Who knows us even better than we know ourselves,
All: Let us worship together!

· Hymn #392 “How Firm a Foundation”
Prayer of Confession
Most merciful God, we confess that we are captive to sin and cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Amen. Eternal God, you have loved us from generation to generation. You have shown your faithfulness more often than we can recall. The Bible tells us of your steadfast mercy. You even pray for us. Yet we live holding on to past hurts; we are not open to your new creation. We prefer the safety of what we know to the excitement of discipleship. Forgive us, we pray, and make us again as you would have us be. We make all of our prayers in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
