Prayer of Confession
You call us to serve you in the world, O God. But we are slow to respond, unsure of what we should do and who we should be. Through Christ you call us to love others as you and He, have loved us. We feel intimidated by that call. The Scriptures tell us, O Lord, that you not only call us, but that you also equip us to do what you call us to do. We are reluctant to step out in faith and trust that you will empower us. Put our fears to rest. Forgive our reluctance to respond. By the power of your Holy Spirit, enable us to respond to your call and make a difference in the world, in the name of, and for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Lord. Amen.
