Granby Memorial Cemetery-Granby Missouri

We would like to remind everyone that planting is not allowed in the cemetery. We noticed several new plantings as we were cleaning up Memorial Day Flowers. They will be removed if they havent been already. Glass jars, figurines etc are not allowed either. Please read the following excerpts from the City Ordinance regarding the cemetery.

Section 140.250Planting Only By Authorized Persons.
[Ord. No. 753, 1-24-2012; Ord. No. 894, 7-27-2023]
No shrubbery or other plants shall be planted in the City Cemetery of the City of Granby by any person except as authorized by the Cemetery Committee.
Section 140.260Other Obstructions.
[Ord. No. 753, 1-24-2012]
No obstructions such as trees, statuary, benches, etc., shall be placed on or around the graves without the approval of the City of Granby, Missouri, and the Cemetery Committee pursuant to City policy.
Section 140.270Glass Containers.
[Ord. No. 753, 1-24-2012]
No glass containers or figurines of ceramic, plastic, metal, porcelain or similar material will be allowed in the cemetery and will be removed for the safety of the caretakers, employees of the City of Granby, Missouri, and the public

We will begin flower removal on June 8. Please remove any flowers and decorations that you would like to keep before June 8. Anything that is not on the stone or on a shepherds hook and hinders mowing and trimming will be removed.

Many thanks to Green Lawn Monster Mowing for making the cemetery look fantastic. We watched them mow and trim in the pouring rain today. All of the rain this week made it difficult to get the cemetery ready. These guys got it done.

In the pouring down rain, Scout Troop 34 out of Neosho started placing flags on our Veteran's graves. We appreciate their help so much. We still have one section to complete and will get it done as soon as we can between rain showers.

We are excited for Green Lawn Monster Mowing out of Granby to mow the cemetery again this year. They did a fantastic job last year. With that being said, if you have any decorations on graves that hinder mowing and trimming and you would like to keep them please remove them ASAP.
