Join us Sundays at 9AM or 11AM at 900 NW Jefferson St. Visit direction4living.com to learn more. Crossroads Church is a place to find and develop passionate, vibrant, and growing relationships with Jesus Christ and other complicated, wonderful people on the same journey of seeking a fulfilled life. It is our desire to be God-centered, Spirit-driven, family-focused and community-infused. It is our

desire to leverage who we are and what we've been given to reach our neighbors, our city, and our world with Gospel-centered ministries of mercy so they might come to know, love, and follow Jesus into His Kingdom -- so others may hear...AND live! In short...we are helping people find AND follow Jesus! Although nondenominational in affiliation, this church upholds the doctrinal viewpoint that aligns with the heart of the Second London Baptist Confession and the New Hampshire Confession of Faith; however, it does not subscribe to any form, politics, or extra-biblical positions on issues that may typically be associated with various Baptist denominations. It remains its own highest authority and conducts its business through its own business sessions.

Christians today have access to more books, podcasts, and Bible apps than any generation in history.
But has this abundance actually produced deeper obedience to Jesus?

Most people don’t ruin their lives through rebellion.
They drift.
Slowly… quietly… into doing “just enough.”
I wrote a reflection this week about that quiet trap and how Scripture reframes faithfulness in work, family, and ministry.

Why capable people drift into doing just enough, the deeper reasons behind it, and how Scripture reframes work, family, and ministry as faithful stewardship before God.

The shock wasn’t the storm — it was what the storm revealed.
Everything looked solid… until it wasn’t.

A house can look faithful.
A life can look Christian.
A ministry can look fruitful.
And the foundation can still be sand.

What if collapse doesn’t come from rebellion… but from unexamined assumptions?
What if it’s possible to be close to holy things without being holy?
Busy with religious activity.
Fluent in Christian language.
Still building on something unstable.

How do you know if your faith will actually stand?
How do you tell the difference between a life that looks faithful
and one that can endure the storm?

Jesus warns us in Matthew 7 that self-deception is real.
Not just being misled by others — but fooling ourselves.

“Two houses can look identical.”
Same location.
Same structure.
Same appearance.

The difference isn’t what you see — it’s what you can’t see.
The storm doesn’t make the foundation weak…
it reveals what was already there.

“False security is more dangerous than honest need.”
The foolish builder didn’t think he was foolish.
The house looked fine.
The way felt fine.

The problem wasn’t rebellion —
it was trust placed in what couldn’t hold.

“If you want to know what’s in someone’s heart — listen.”
Just let them talk.
Eventually, what’s inside always comes out.

Jesus said it plainly: the mouth speaks from what fills the heart.
Words don’t slip — they reveal.

For those of you who DESIRE to worship in person and can safely navigate the roads...
Crossroads Church’s policy is to do our best to provide a place for those who CAN attend to gather in person and worship. See our **FULL** Winter/Severe Weather policy here in Church Center: https://crossroadsgv.churchcenter.com/pages/severe-weather-policy

What would change if we truly trusted God to provide?
What if we stopped loving from fear of running out,
and started loving from confidence in our Father’s abundance?

Faith shapes how we live, how we serve, and how we love our neighbors — not fear, not scarcity, not politics.
