From our Sola family, we share sad news of the death of Kay Groethe, wife of Pastor Kent Groethe. She died this past week on Good Friday from a very aggressive form of cancer. As many of you know, Kent is the founder of Connections magazine and is one of Sola’s primary authors. But Kay also played a big part in this ministry, especially in the early days of Connections, handling all the contacts and subscriptions magazine. She was a kind and faithful servant of God who will be missed by us all. At the same time, in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection through our Lord Jesus Christ, we have confidence that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, and we know that Kay is bound to our Lord for all eternity and we will see her again when we all gather together before God’s throne. I pray that the Lord of Life strengthen and comfort us all in the peace of God.

Kay’s funeral has been scheduled for April 25, 2026, at 10:00 am, at the Church of the Nazarene in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. God bless Kent and the rest of Kay’s family and friends.

Sola has just released its new summer lesson series for 2026 on the SEED website, called "Working for God."

The biblical focus in this series is found in several New Testament texts that talk about our individual vocations as part of the one body of Christ. Like many gears working together as part of an active machine, God has made us all a part of one body, the Church, and each of us are giving talents and skills to serve God in our everyday life. Some people serve out in the world, and some serve within the church itself. This calling to serve God is what we call “vocation.” Not all of us in the Church have the same job to do, but we all are called to be servants and messengers of Jesus!
