Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, spiritual fathers, and father figures. 💙

In today's message, Bishop Mills reminded us that fatherhood is more than a title.

A father is called to be a provider, protector, playmate, and principled guide. While some may overlook the importance of playtime, those moments often become teaching moments—opportunities to learn what a child is thinking, what they know, and how they see the world.

A good father is not only the man of the house, but the head of the house. He looks to God for direction, believes in God's promises, and understands that leadership requires action.

Children are always watching. They learn not only from what we say, but from what we do. A father who lives out his faith teaches those around him, "This is what I need to do." Those everyday moments become opportunities to guide, prepare, and encourage the next generation.

As a man grows in his relationship with God, he grows in his ability to lead, love, teach, and serve.

Today, we honor and celebrate the fathers who continue to show up, sacrifice, teach, and lead by example.

Happy Father's Day! 💙

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28

Life has a way of piling things on us. Stress. Worry. Disappointment. Uncertainty. Burdens we were never meant to carry alone.

The good news is that Jesus extends an invitation to each of us: Come.

Not when everything is fixed.
Not when we have all the answers.
Not when life becomes easier.

Just come.

When we bring our burdens to Him, He promises rest for our souls. The challenge is believing that what He promised, He will do.

"We all deal with things in life. Jesus invites us to come and He'll give us rest. You have to believe He'll give you rest."

We often focus on the sheep that wandered away, but Sunday's message challenged us to think about our responsibility as well.

🔹 When you notice someone is lost, see about them.
🔹 There is still work to do.
🔹 Don't assume people know God or understand His Word.
🔹 Be encouraged as you encourage others.

God's grace found us when we were lost. Now we have the opportunity to help point someone else to Him.

The same Jesus who found us is still seeking the lost.

Sometimes it's easy to become comfortable in our walk with God and forget that there are people around us who still need hope, encouragement, and the love of Christ. But Jesus showed us the importance of the one. He willingly left the ninety-nine to go after the sheep that was lost.

We were once that lost sheep.

God's amazing grace found us, restored us, and welcomed us into His Kingdom. Now He calls us to help others find their way to Him.

Don't assume they know. Don't assume someone else will reach them. Until Jesus returns, there is still work to do.

Life has a way of testing us.

There will be seasons when challenges come, prayers seem delayed, and the enemy tries to convince us to focus more on our problems than on God's promises. But Bishop Mills reminded us that our peace and joy are not determined by our circumstances—they are found in God. No matter what you're going through, guard your faith. Keep trusting God. Keep praising Him. Refuse to allow the enemy to steal your peace. When we praise God in the middle of our struggle, He reminds us that we're not going through it alone.

"Life will keep being life, don't let it have your peace."

What you're facing may be difficult, but it is not greater than God.

Don't allow fear, frustration, or uncertainty to convince you that your situation is beyond His reach. God is still a deliverer. He is still a way maker. He is still faithful.

Whatever you're going through, trust that God is able to bring you through it.

"If it's taking away your attention from serving God the way you're supposed to, lay it aside." - Elder D. Mills

Not everything we need to remove from our lives is sinful, but anything that consistently pulls us away from God deserves our attention.

What has your focus today?

Lay aside the distractions. God wants your attention. 🙏🏾

We spend months preparing for weddings, babies, vacations, graduations, and major life events. But are we preparing for the return of Jesus?

During our combined service with our Synagogue of Christ Church family, Elder G. Bennett reminded us that Christ's return will be right on time—but not everyone will be ready.

The question isn't whether He's coming.
The question is: Will we be watching?

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." — Matthew 24:42

"Even at our best, we still need God."

Bishop Mills reminded us that the enemy works to keep us from progressing in our relationship with God. That's why we must be intentional about growing stronger in Him every day.

There are times when God will challenge what we think we already know and redirect us away from what seems right in our own eyes. That's why we can never become so confident in ourselves that we stop depending on Him.

Work on your relationship with God daily. Stay where you're supposed to be. Keep growing.

At the end of the day, our strength, wisdom, and direction all come from Him.

Even at our best, we still need God.
