Then come and visit us in Grafton! Church services are reversed:
Worship service at 9:30 a.m., followed by
Sabbath School at 10:45 a.m. A fellowship lunch is provided after services end on most days. The Grafton Seventh-day Adventist Church is part of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church, a mainstream Protestant, Christian denomination with approximately 22 million members worldwide, i

ncluding more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let them know that Jesus is coming again soon. Our services are on Saturdays, the seventh day of the week and the Biblical 'Sabbath day,' hence our name of "Seventh-day" Adventist. We worship on that day in observance of God's 4th Commandment and because it was the day when our Lord worshiped (see Luke 4:16). Other than that difference, our services are typical of many traditional Protestant Christian churches. We open with a familiar hymn, then we share testimonies and prayer requests, and sometimes we are blessed with special music from one of our members or friends. We want our young children to value the worship service, too, so we try to include a short message just for them before the sermon is presented. Following the worship service we have Bible classes for various age groups. We'd love to have you come to visit and worship with us soon!

Steve Boyce, a friend and Elder from our sister church in Fairmont WV, presented the sermon for us this past Saturday.

Science points to the Creator.

At the heart of scientific inquiry lies a simple but powerful principle: question assumptions, examine evidence, and follow where the data leads.
Dean H. Kenyon, a respected biophysicist, challenged fellow scientists to take a deeper look at the foundations of macroevolution—its assumptions, its interpretations, and the experimental evidence used to support it. His argument wasn’t about rejecting science, but about re-evaluating the framework through which scientific data is interpreted.
Science progresses not by blind acceptance, but by continuous scrutiny. Throughout history, major breakthroughs have come from those willing to question dominant theories and explore alternative explanations. Whether in physics, biology, or cosmology, progress begins when curiosity meets critical thinking.
When we look at life—from the intricate coding of DNA to the highly coordinated systems within a single cell—we are confronted with layers of complexity that continue to challenge our understanding. These systems operate with remarkable precision, raising profound questions about how such organization originated.
Kenyon emphasized that if scientists carefully examine both the assumptions and the evidence surrounding origins, they may find legitimate reasons to question prevailing narratives. His perspective invites a broader discussion:
Are current models sufficient to explain the origin of life?
Or is there more to the story that science has yet to uncover?
This is not about choosing sides—it’s about encouraging deeper investigation. True scientific thinking remains open, analytical, and willing to reconsider conclusions in light of new insights.
In the end, the goal is not just to defend a position, but to pursue truth with honesty and intellectual rigor.
