An update from Jim and Janice Mitchell, serving Victory Baptist Church in Nebraska:

Less than three weeks ago, they received the biopsy results: Jim has terminal GBM (Grade 4) cancer, with a prognosis of 6 months to a year.

Jim is currently sleeping 3/4 of the time, his memory is fading, and he is very weak, having fallen several times. Janice is grateful for the wonderful family support as she works to figure out where to get the best care and help for Jim, meaning moving with one of their children. She is also ever so grateful for your many prayers and love throughout their ministry and has set up a CaringBridge page where you can follow updates.

Today is a travel day as Jim and Janice make their way to Texas with the help of their sons, Jared and Jamin. Please pray for comfort and strength for Jim during the journey and for safety as they travel.

Janice shared: "My Redeemer is faithful and true—everything that He says He will do—and every morning His mercies are new. My Redeemer is faithful and true!"

Please join us in specific prayer for Jim and Janice:
• Pray for wisdom as they make care decisions.
• Pray for comfort, mercy, and strength as they walk by faith and not by sight.
• Pray that Jim would not suffer long.
• Pray that God will keep him from seizures and that his pain will be manageable.
• Pray for comfort and safety as they travel to Texas.

Janice is deeply thankful for the many who have called and connected with Jim during this season.

We appreciate your continued prayers and love. We know this has not taken God by surprise!

Jesus is not reserved for a certain kind of person.

He came for the weary, the searching, the faithful, and the struggling—for people in every season of life. No one is outside His reach, and no one is overlooked.

The invitation is still open: come and follow Him.

As we pause, we remember those who gave their lives in service to others, and we honor the sacrifice that made this day possible.

May we live in a way that reflects that kind of selflessness, using what we’ve been given to love and serve others well.

Spring has been full at Grace Fellowship Church in Preston, Idaho, and full in the best way.

From a Wild Game Dinner that brought the community together, to new visitors returning, to one-on-one discipleship happening throughout the week, there’s a steady sense that God is at work in the ordinary rhythms of church life.

We’re especially encouraged by the relationships being built: conversations with coworkers, Bible studies forming, and people taking next steps in their faith, including an upcoming baptism.

Please continue praying for the Jespersens as they invest in people, share the gospel, and trust God to keep growing His Church in Preston.

Every church eventually asks the question: Who will lead next?

Scripture shows us that leaders aren’t something we manufacture or scramble to find in a moment of need. Instead, healthy churches build leadership pathways into the life of the church to prepare for future need.

We’re thankful for the mothers who faithfully love, serve, and point others to Christ often in unseen ways.

Your sacrifice and steady presence reflect the heart of God more than you may ever know.

Happy Mother’s Day from Baptist Church Planters.

We’re grateful to share an update from Jim and Janice Mitchell and their ministry at Victory Baptist Church in Nebraska.

This Easter, the church celebrated two baptisms, powerful reminders of God’s work in changing lives and drawing people closer to Him. We’re thankful for the faithfulness of leaders and church members who continue to invest in discipleship and spiritual growth.

Thank you for continuing to pray for and support the work God is doing through faithful servants like the Mitchells.

This month, we’re grateful to share an update from Brent and Michele Howard and their work with Stevensons with ChurchCare Construction.

Winter brought some real challenges to their current project in Quakertown, PA, including single-digit temperatures, snow, and even a close encounter with a deer on the road. But through it all, God has continued to provide safety, strength, and faithful volunteers to help move the work forward.

The church building project continues to progress, with volunteers insulating, hanging drywall, wiring lights, and preparing spaces that will soon serve a local congregation. Brent and Michele are thankful for the many hands that have stepped in to help and for the encouragement of churches partnering in the work.

Please continue to pray for the Howards as they finish this project and serve churches through ChurchCare Construction. Your prayers and support make this ministry possible.

Hospitality used to be a normal part of Christian life. The early church welcomed people into their homes, shared meals, and built relationships that strengthened their faith and mission.

Somewhere along the way, hospitality started to feel complicated or optional.

But Scripture still calls believers to practice it.
