Young People Study of Christianity Working Together Makes Us Better Mark 4:26-32; Ephesians 4:4-6, 11-18 26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.” 30 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. 32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. 17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Un hombre esparce semillas en el suelo. 27 Día y noche, ya sea que duerma o se levante, la semilla brota y crece, aunque él no sepa cómo. 28 Por sí solo, el suelo produce grano—primero el tallo, luego la cabeza, y después el grano completo de la cabeza. 29 En cuanto el grano está maduro, pone la hoz sobre él, porque ha llegado la cosecha." 30 De nuevo dijo: «¿Cómo diremos que es el reino de Dios, o qué parábola usaremos para describirlo? 31 Es como una semilla de mostaza, que es la más pequeña de todas las semillas de la tierra. 32 Sin embargo, cuando se planta, crece y se convierte en la más grande de todas las plantas de jardín, con ramas tan grandes que las aves pueden posarse a su sombra." 4 Hay un solo cuerpo y un solo Espíritu, así como fuiste llamado a una sola esperanza cuando fuiste llamado; 5 un Señor, una sola fe, un solo bautismo; 6 un solo Dios y Padre de todos, que está sobre todos y a través de todo y en todo. 11 Y él mismo dio a unos como apóstoles, a otros como profetas, a otros como evangelistas, a otros como pastores y maestros, 12 para preparar al pueblo de Dios para la obra de servicio, para que el cuerpo de Cristo sea edificado 13 hasta que todos lleguemos a la unidad en la fe y en el conocimiento del Hijo de Dios, y alcancemos la madurez, llegando a la medida completa de la plenitud de Cristo. 14 Así ya no seremos niños, sacudidos y llevados de aquí para allá por todo viento de enseñanza, y engañados mediante astucia y artimañas humanas en planes de fraude. 15 Sino que, hablando la verdad con amor, creceremos en todo aspecto para llegar a ser el cuerpo maduro de aquel que es la cabeza, es decir, Cristo. 16 De él todo el cuerpo, unido y sostenido por todos los ligamentos que lo sostienen, crece y se edifica en amor, según la función de cada parte. 17 Por eso les digo esto, y lo insisto en el Señor: ya no deben vivir como los gentiles, en la vanidad de su manera de pensar. 18 Ellos son oscurecidos en su entendimiento y separados de la vida de Dios a causa de la ignorancia que hay en ellos debido al endurecimiento de sus corazones.
