IS IT TRUE? 🔎
Can a book written thousands of years ago, to a totally different culture and people, really speak to our lives today?
As Pastor Coleman prepared our hearts to hear from Philippians 2 last Saturday, he challenged us — these words we’re reading aren’t just any old words. 📖
They are living, breathing words from the living God who made you, shaper than a double edged sword. (Hebrews 4:12) 🗡️
If you don’t believe in God, why should you trust the Bible, or at least consider trusting it?
📜 the oldest manuscripts recording Jesus’ resurrection are dated within 35 years of the event, with many eye-witnesses still living to confirm or deny the claims (look up “Gallic Wars vs. New Testament”)
⏳ Biblical prophecies about ancient empires came true hundreds of years later (look up “Biblical prophecy fulfilled”)
🏛️ archeological evidence has always proved the Bible right (look up “archaeological evidence against the Bible”)
🙌 millions of people across history and across the globe have reported personal experiences with Jesus, even if they lived thousands of years after His death (look up “reports of supernatural encounters with Christ”)
🤝 all other religions are about man reaching up to God. Christianity is the only belief system about God reaching down to man (look up “religions where God became man”)
But truthfully, if you don’t think the Bible came from God, or that there is no God, you can’t expect God to speak to you thru it. You also wouldn’t expect it to apply to your life. 🤷♀️
Like any belief — whether it be in a Big Bang, aliens, or an uninvolved deity — you have to start with an assumption. You have to take a step of faith. 👣
Read the Bible! Ask God to speak to you through it. If He’s not there, He won’t answer. If He is… well, you have to decide what to do with that.
We here at Thrive are here cheering you on and here to help along the journey, wherever you start ❤️🌿🛣️
