We are kicking off a new tradition- 5th Sunday Food and Fellowship- on Sunday, August 30th- immediately following service. The signups filled up quickly, but we could also use sliced onion, tomato, and any other sandwich toppings! More sides and desserts also would be welcome! Please let us know if you would like to contribute!

Worship at Gosport Christian Church is a precious time of honoring God with praise collectively as a body of believers but also on a personal level. Our songs of praise are ultimately not meant for us- but an offering to the Lord. With that being said, we all have varying tastes regarding style and genre of music, a variety of lyrics that speak to our hearts, and favorite songs of praise that minister to our souls. Therefore, in an ongoing effort to respect and recognize the individual preferences regarding the songs we sing on Sunday mornings, we are inviting all of our members and regular attenders to request and help select songs for our time of worship in the coming weeks. If you have a song you would like our congregation to sing together, there will be a dedicated area in the church where you can leave a note with your requests. Tim, Richard, Emily and Hannah are also ready to take down your favorites!

** Gosport Christian Church Basement Access statement for Monday, April 27, 2026 **

The church basement will be open tonight in the event of a tornado warning provided that the volunteers unlocking the building have sufficient notice in advance of an imminent warning to arrive safely.

Upon our arrival, we will make a post stating that the basement is available.

What you need to know…

- Side door entry only. This is the door by the stained glass windows with the ramp. To access the basement if we are already downstairs: you will go immediately to your right into the sanctuary and in front of the stage to the far door by the clock. The basement stairs are in that room.

- The church is not responsible for injuries.

- The church will be locked back immediately following the threat of any tornado warnings.

- Please be respectful of everyone in the building and church property and belongings. Please refrain from wandering around the building. You can either sit in the sanctuary or in the basement. Bathrooms will be available.

- Please monitor your children at all times.

- No one under the age of 18 without an adult.

- Cell phone service is extremely limited in the basement. If needed, please let loved ones know where you are in advance in case of a hazardous situation.

Gentle reminder: This is a ministry that we attempt to fulfill for the community, however, please remember- we are a very small, mostly older congregation and neither of our ministers reside in the town of Gosport. We make every effort to be available to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus in a variety of situations (storms, warming shelter, food pantry items, etc), and if you ever feel like “the church” isn’t doing something that “we” should be doing- please remember- You are always welcome to join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30 to find ways to plug in and help!

**We cannot guarantee that the church building will be unlocked in the event of a tornado warning. We will post on the Gosport Christian Church page when we have arrived that the basement is accessible**
