The MCC Run for Relief is open for registration! Sign up for a 5k run or a 2k fun walk, both starting at 8am on Saturday, Sept. 26. 🏃🏻🏃🏿‍♀️

Note additional processing fees apply. Register by Sept. 11 to guarantee your T-shirt size.

On-site registration is available at the Elkhart Co. 4-H Fairgrounds on Friday, Sept. 25 from 5:30-9 PM (Building A, near quilt auction) or Saturday, Sept. 26 from 6:45-7:45 AM in the grandstand area (Dairy Bar II). T-shirt availability is not guaranteed for registrations after Sept. 11.

Registration fee: $25 with T-shirt / $20 without T-shirt

Earlier this week, we shared a post about collecting coins for our My Coins Count fundraiser, but... what does the money go towards? What projects do the Relief Sale funds buy? Here's a list of what different donation amounts can accomplish around the world!

$14 buys a set of 7 children’s books in Rwanda 🇷🇼
$45 buys books and art supplies for daycare students in Bolivia 🇧🇴
$64 provides a set of farming tools for families in Chad 🇹🇩
$85 buys one goat in Lebanon 🇱🇧
$105 buys a food basket for a family in Palestine 🇵🇸
$128 provides playground equipment for a school in Ethiopia 🇪🇹
$150 buys a sewing machine for a tailor in South Sudan 🇸🇸
$216 buys a month’s worth of rice for a children’s center in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
$6,677 builds a well in Mozambique 🇲🇿

Costs are from our 2025 estimates, listed in U.S. dollars. These are representative of the hundreds of projects supported by MCC, so exact costs may vary by location within a country and other factors such as conflict in the area or inflation.

The Relief Sale is one month away! We encourage you to start collecting your coins for the My Coins Count fundraiser, because this year, the funds will go towards education expenses around the world. The My Coins Count is a fundraiser to show that even the smallest amount of coins can CHANGE 🪙 the world!

This past year, MCC has provided education relief in Bangladesh, South Sudan, Paraguay, Cambodia, Syria, and many, many other countries.

Use this calendar to collect coins in the weeks leading up to our Relief Sale, and bring them with you to turn in at the MyCC booth. If you really want to be a change-maker, you can double the amount of cents listed, or collect that many dollars instead! If you start late or miss a few days in between, that’s okay! Some change is better than no change. 🌏

What is a Relief Sale and why do Mennonites need it?

Since our first sale in 1968, the Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale has been raising funds to support the projects and programs of Mennonite Central Committee, a worldwide ministry of Anabaptist churches. The Relief Sale is not a fundraiser FOR Mennonites, but it's a fundraiser BY Mennonites.

MCC shares God’s love and compassion for all in the name of Christ by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice. This year, proceeds will go towards education projects around the world. The Michiana sale is one of 30 relief sale events in the U.S. and Canada that together raise over $4 million annually.

Total proceeds from the 2025 Michiana Relief Sale were approximately $445,000! The sale is made possible with the help of hundreds of volunteers who contribute their time and resources.

Attendees can purchase a variety of donated items in the auctions; craft, dried flower, plants, and One Village Fair Trade goods, as well as all of the many food booths. Other events include a Pickleball Tournament (new this year!) Run for Relief, music, and children's activities.
