Today at River Oaks, we were reminded of the incredible work of Christ.
Jesus willingly gave His life on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Through His death and resurrection, He made a way for us to be forgiven, restored, and saved.
Our hope is not found in what we can do for God, but in what Christ has already done for us.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we praise The Lord for the ability to meet in person this morning and we lift up our neighboring fellowships who are unable to gather because of more extensive challenges. Many people feel like no one understands what they’re going through.
The exhaustion. The disappointment. The betrayal. The pain no one else can see.
But Jesus did not watch human suffering from a distance. He stepped into it.
He knows what it is to weep, to be rejected, to feel exhausted, and to carry the weight of this world. That’s why, when you pray, you are not speaking to a distant God. You are speaking to someone who deeply understands your pain and has the power to transform it.
What is breaking your heart today is not beyond the reach of His hands.

Jesus didn’t come to improve our image. He came to change us from the inside out. Real faith is revealed through a surrendered life, genuine obedience, and an authentic relationship with Him.
When the heart changes, everything else begins to follow.

One message tells you to trust yourself.
The other calls you to surrender.
The truth is, you were never meant to be your own savior.

What went wrong with us?
That is one of the most important questions we can ask.
The Bible doesn’t ignore that question. It shows us that the human problem didn’t begin with a lack of knowledge, opportunity, or effort. It began when humanity chose to live apart from God.
Since then, every generation has felt the effects.
That is why the gospel is so much more than self-improvement. It is the story of a God who came to seek the lost, restore what was broken, and give life to people who could never save themselves.
The human condition is bad news.
But the grace of Jesus is far better news.
