Holy Week Schedule

April 28 Sunday of the Entrance into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday
Orthros at 9 am. Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom follows10am
Holy Week begins the evening of April 28.
April 28, 29, 30. Bridegroom Matins 6pm each evening.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.
Please pay especial attention to Tuesday evening and the chanting of the great hymn of Kassiani.
This hymn appears toward the end of the service and is chanted quite slowly.

May 1-Wednesday- Holy Unction
6pm. All may attend; Orthodox faithful may be anointed.

May 2-Thursday Morning- Foot washing Liturgy 9 am.
After this service the priest will wash the feet of some who are in attendance.
May 2-Thursday -Twelve Passion Gospels 6pm
Long beautiful and medicinal service.

May 3-Friday Morning- Royal Hours 8am
May 3- Friday afternoon Vespers Taking Down from the Cross 4pm.
May 3-Friday Evening Lamentations. 6pm
Reading of the Psalter follows through its entirety.

May 4-Saturday Morning Harrowing of Hell Divine Liturgy. 9am. We scatter the bay leaves.
May 4-Saturday Evening Rush~Matins

Holy Pascha. 10pm.
Be early; bring a meal to share; bring Pascha baskets; bring hand bells; bring friends. There will be no confessions prior to this service; we start promptly at 10pm.

Great care must take place for the lighting of candles prior to the procession outside. Parents must please watch over children and others as there will be darkness and many in attendance.

December 24 Sunday Morning ~ 8:30 am Orthros/Matins ~ Divine Liturgy 9:30am. Please inform everyone of the time change.

December 24 Sunday Evening Christmas Orthros/Matins 8pm. ~ Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great 9pm.

Theophany Saturday January 6 ~ 8am Orthros/matins ~ 9am Divine Liturgy followed by the blessing of waters. Outdoor blessing of waters TBA>

Dearest to God.

We will be celebrating the Feast of Transfiguration this Sunday August 6. The good Dn. KT will be speaking and afterward fish will be offered by the parish. Carry in Lenten meals also. Our parish feast day will be celebrated the evening of the August 14 6pm. Carry in dinner; non fasting foods. Fr. James Ellison from St. Nicholas will be present with us and offer the homily.

I need the dates and places etc. for all reading groups.

During August I hope to meet with clergy, leaders of reading groups, Sunday Education leaders.
