fortable in. Is this a safe place for my kids? Children's ministry is available during our weekend service. Your kids will sense the love of God coming from dedicated adults who are committed to serving Jesus by teaching kids. Is this a place for my teen to connect other teens? Whether your teen is in high school or junior high they will find an environment in which to make new friends and experience God. We'll bring a biblical message of hope and challenge to them every week. We are affiliated with the Church of God with general offices in Anderson, Indiana. The Church of God is not a denomination but a movement that began with the purpose of bringing unity to the whole Church. To learn more about the Church of God please go to www.chog.org.

We wanted to share an opportunity to support an organization doing important work in the fight against human trafficking.

The Sale That Saves partners with Destiny Rescue to help combat s*x trafficking involving women and children through their annual fundraising sale made up entirely of donated items.

They are currently collecting donations for this year’s sale, happening October 22–25 at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds (ECCC Building).

Our church previously had the opportunity to host and support this ministry, and we wanted to pass this along for anyone interested in contributing or learning more.

This past Sunday we finished our Storied Kingdom series by looking at Jesus’ parable of the wise builder and the foolish builder. During the dry summer months, the house built on the sand may have looked perfectly fine. It wasn’t until the rains came, the floods rose, and the winds beat against the house that the integrity of the foundation was revealed. Pressure exposes what has been built beneath the surface.

In the same way, seasons of pressure, hardship, and difficulty often reveal the true foundation of our lives.

We continued our seriues Storied Kingdom as we looked at Jesus’s teaching on prayer in Luke 11.
The point of Jesus’s parable in Luke 11 is not comparison—it’s contrast.

God is not like the reluctant neighbor who finally gives in out of annoyance.God is not like a malicious father who gives harmful things to his children.
Jesus’s point is: how much more?

The foundation of prayer is not persuading a distant God.
The foundation of prayer is trusting the character of the Father.

We continued our Storied Kingdom series looking at the parable of the wedding banquet in Matthew 22. The Kingdom of God is like a king hosting a wedding feast—an open invitation filled with joy and abundance. But the tragedy of the parable is this: the invitation is wide… and still, some refuse it.

Even more surprising? Those we might expect to be “out” are welcomed in.Watch the full message here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAgUBdvJfXM&t=926s

In our Storied Kingdom series, we explored Jesus’ parables of the hidden treasure and the pearl of great price—images that reveal a Kingdom of surpassing beauty and infinite worth, one that reorders everything.

While it was still dark, Mary went to the tomb...but, in the midst of the darkness, a resurrection had happened. The story of Easter is that sin and death has been defeated. The question, as posed in the movie Wake Up Dead Man, is this: , “...do these stories convince us of a lie, or do they resonate with something deep inside us that is profoundly true?” You can watch the full message here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLdHlb1Ssx8&t=516s

When Jesus flipped tables in the temple, He was confronting a religious system that had become corrupt and exploitative. By quoting Isaiah 56 and Jeremiah 7, He issued a direct indictment against the religious leaders of His day.

Our living hope is this: injustice will not have the final word. One day, as Isaiah 42 promises, Jesus will establish true justice on the earth.

And it will be good.
It will bring healing.
It will lift up the powerless and the broken.

We started a new series Living Hope: Death Eclipsed by Life. The radical claim of Christianity is that death, disease, and decay have been defeated in Jesus. As a result, we have a living hope. One of the things our living hope invites us to see differently is our earthly treasures. Earthly treasures will not endure, but we have a hope of an eternal reward. This past Sunday we wrapped up our series Rhythms: Sacred Practices that Renew the Soul. We closed by exploring the practice of self-examination.

As we do this work, we will inevitably encounter our own pride, blind spots, and self-deception. But when we invite the Holy Spirit’s revealing light to illuminate what we cannot see and are willing to take the journey inward, we may find ourselves being formed more into the likeness of Jesus along the way.
