Redeemer Lutheran Church

Redeemer Lutheran Church Lutheran Church Missouri Synod located in Gorham and Sanford, Maine Groundbreaking was in 1967, and the new church building was dedicated one year later.

For over 40 years Redeemer Lutheran Church has been a vital Christian presence in the Greater Portland area. Originally meeting in South Portland, the congregation’s first worship service was held in 1962. In 1965, Redeemer purchased the site for its first church home on Spurwink Avenue in Cape Elizabeth. In April of 2005, our Lord placed Reedemer in its current location at 410 Main Street in Gorham.

Whether you are new to the area, visiting, or just exploring, you are welcome to participate in any service. You can expect to be greeted at the door, introduced to the pastor, and seated next to somebody that can assist you in any way needed. The Divine Service follows the historic liturgy of the Church using one of the settings available in the Lutheran Service Book. Services include ancient and modern elements. Chanting and congregational singing are common. Hymns from every age of the Christian Church's history are sung throughout the year. The choir sings regularly.

Our Satellite location at 1755 Main Street in Sanford now has more space. We have moved to Units A10 & 11. The roomier space makes way for us to worship more comfortably and to have expanded space for fellowship. Weekly worship is at 5:00pm each Saturday.
