Zion Lutheran Church - Gordonville

Zion Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. We are located just two miles south of Gordonville, Missouri along Highway 25.

Come join us for Sunday school at 9:15 am and worship at 10:15 am! Zion Lutheran Church is a Missouri Synod based church located just south of Gordonville, Missouri. Serving our community by spreading the Word of God, we actively seek to honor Matthew 28:19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teach

ing them to observe all things that I have commanded you..." Zion Lutheran Church was founded in 1865. While the original church no longer stands, the current sanctuary was completed in 1915. Today, the original floor-to-ceiling stained glass windows still illuminate the beautiful sanctuary. The organ is also original to the church. Just a few years ago the organ went under a major renovation, bringing it back to magnificent quality.

It is almost VBS time! This year Zion will be hosting our joint VBS with Christ Lutheran Church (Gordonville, MO), Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jackson - Tilsit MO, and St. Paul Lutheran Church - Chaffee. Join us Sunday August 9th-Tuesday, August 11th for a Tropical Trek where kids learn how Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Sunday will be from 4:15-7:30, Monday 5:30-7:30, and Tuesday 5:30-7:40 (ice cream social afterwards). A free meal will be served each night from 5:30-6:00.
Please fill out the registration form below if you would like to enroll your child in VBS or if you would like to volunteer to help at VBS this year. Please enroll by July 26th in order for us to ensure your child will receive a free t-shirt.

Sunday, Zion had the privilege of welcoming Seminarian John Carpenter to our service. We welcomed him with beautiful music from our bell choir and choir. John blessed us with a touching sermon.
John is a student at Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne. He brought his wife Jana and daughter Rosie along too. We wish John many blessings as he continues his calling in becoming a pastor.

Today we got to celebrate this special little guys 1st birthday!! Happy 1st birthday!! 🎂🎂🎉🎉 He definitely wasnt sure about that huge cake set in front of him. 🥰 But he sure ended up enjoying it!
