"The Vision Peter Wasn't Ready For"
Peter was on a rooftop praying when the vision came — a sheet lowered from heaven, full of animals he'd spent his whole life being told not to touch. And a voice said, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat." He refused. Three times the vision came. Three times the voice said: "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."
God didn't wait for Peter to be theologically ready. The vision arrived ahead of the understanding. That's how it usually works — the invitation stretches us before we've finished adjusting.
Is there something or someone you've been keeping at a distance because of old assumptions — assumptions that may have once made sense but haven't been examined lately?

A WAY IN THE WILDERNESS
In Isaiah, God promises, “I am about to do a new thing.” God makes a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

That promise does not erase the difficulty of change, but it reminds us that God can bring life where we expected only dryness. Even when the future is unfamiliar, God is still creating paths of grace, renewal, and hope.

Where might God be making a way that you have not yet recognized?

HOPE TAKES ROOT
God’s promise in Jeremiah 29 is not instant escape. The people will remain in exile for a time. But they are not abandoned there.

Hope is not always quick. Sometimes hope grows slowly, like roots beneath the surface. In seasons of unwanted change, God invites us to keep living, keep praying, keep blessing, and keep trusting that the story is not over.

Write down one sign of hope you can see right now, even if it feels small.

LEADERSHIP CHANGES, GOD REMAINS
Moses’ leadership is ending, and Joshua’s is beginning. That is a big change for Israel. But God’s promise remains unchanged.

Leaders matter. Seasons matter. Transitions matter. But our deepest trust belongs to God. When human leadership shifts, the unchanging presence of God continues to guide, sustain, and hold the community together.

Pray today for leaders in seasons of transition, and for the people learning to move forward together.

SEEK THE WELFARE OF THE CITY
God’s instruction is surprising: seek the welfare of the place where you are, even if it is not the place you wanted to be.

Faith does not turn inward during hard seasons. God calls the people to bless their neighbors, pray for their community, and contribute to the common good. Even in exile, they can become a sign of God’s grace.

What would it look like for you to bless the community around you this week?

BUILD AND PLANT
God tells the exiles to build houses, plant gardens, and make a life where they are. This is not resignation. It is faithful courage.

Sometimes hope looks like staying engaged instead of shutting down. It looks like planting something good, even when the soil is unfamiliar. God’s people are invited to live fully, not just wait for things to go back to the way they were.

Do one small thing today that invests in the place, people, or season God has placed before you.

WHEN CHANGE IS NOT CHOSEN
Judah did not choose exile. They did not choose disruption, loss, or life in a place that did not feel like home. And yet, God speaks to them there.

Jeremiah 29 reminds us that God does not wait for life to feel settled before calling us to faithfulness. Even in unwanted change, God is present, active, and still inviting us to live with purpose.
Where are you being asked to trust God in a season you would not have chosen?

Do Not Be Afraid

“Do not fear or be dismayed,” Moses says. These words are not a dismissal of real concerns. They are an invitation to trust God in the middle of them.

Fear often grows when we feel alone. But Deuteronomy 31 reminds us that God will not fail us or forsake us. We can face change because God’s presence is not temporary.

What fear do you need to place into God’s hands today?

Leadership Changes, God Remains

Moses’ leadership is ending, and Joshua’s is beginning. That is a big change for Israel. But God’s promise remains unchanged.

Leaders matter. Seasons matter. Transitions matter. But our deepest trust belongs to God. When human leadership shifts, the unchanging presence of God continues to guide, sustain, and hold the community together.

Pray today for leaders in seasons of transition, and for the people learning to move forward together.
